Can a single diamond sell for $60 million? It seems so. And it’s an absolute record. The Sotheby’s auction house presented a pink diamond in Geneva with an estimated value of over 60 million dollars, approximately 46 million euros, which will be auctioned on November 13th. It was named “Pink Star”, weighs 59.60 carats and, according to Sotheby’s, is the most expensive diamond ever auctioned. It was mined in 1999 in Africa by De Beers, shown in public after being cut in 2003 and sold for the first time in 2007.
