Lumières d’Eau, the new high jewelry collection by Chaumet, is inspired by water, as its name suggests. Water in all its forms, from the mist after tropical rain in the form of pearls, to the snow icicles of rock crystals, to the foam of the waves of yellow sapphires, to the moon reflected on the sea with the blue ones like pools surrounded by diamonds. And, again, to the abyss represented by the lapis lazuli tassels that hang from a 9-carat tanzanite in the Abyssus necklace. The white opal is an oyster in a sea of purple sapphires from Ceylon, Madagascar and Ethiopia and the sun appears in a mixture of yellow and blue stones. However, this is only a preview of the 12 suites (a symbolic number for the maison founded in 1780 at 12 Place Vendôme) of jewels that will be presented at the Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris in September.
