All of New York is talking about it: Patrick Robinson, creative director of Armani Exchange, has been removed from his position, shortly after the launch of the collection of bracelets made from parts of guns and illegal bullet casings, in collaboration with Liberty United. The official explanation is that the jewels did not achieve the commercial success expected by the company. But according to the New York Post, the real reason is another: an accusation of plagiarism. The suspicion was raised by David Yurman, who in a letter to the company allegedly claimed the similarity with his Cable Classic collection and asked for the immediate dismissal of the designer, a favorite of the powerful Ann Wintour, the editor of Vogue USA, queen of fashion. Official sources at Armani Exchange deny, however, that there is a connection between the two facts. Robinson had already left Gap in 2011, according to some due to poor commercial results. A curious aspect is that the accused designer is married to Virginia Smith, renowned jewelry expert and fashion and accessories director of Vogue.
