Vo Vintage program

The stopwatch has already started to count down. And timepieces are the protagonists of Vo Vintage, the appointment introduced three years ago by Ieg as an experiment and which has proved to be a valid contribution to Vicenzaoro. So from 20 to 23 January Vo Vintage will be staged for the fourth edition, one day more than the previous ones. The event is always scheduled in the foyer on the first floor of the fair and is aimed at watch enthusiasts, collectors and traders. Unlike Vicenzaoro, in fact, in this case the entrance is open to the public and not only to operators.

Milano Jewelry Week is back

Long live the end (hopefully) of the pandemic. Events are back, including those dedicated to jewelry. And in the Italian capital of design the Milano Jewelry Week is back (20-23 October). It is the second edition after that of 2019 and aims to overcome the debut. The week dedicated to jewelry includes a set of connected events and, alongside exhibitions and performances, also a share of business, both reserved for the public and operators.

Milano Jewelry Week, promoted by Prodes, a company that organizes events, has scheduled about 200 events including high jewelery ateliers, goldsmith art workshops, academies, schools, art galleries, fashion boutiques and design showrooms, located in different areas of the city. Among the places where the appointments on the agenda will take place there are, for example, Palazzo Bovara, Palazzo dei Giureconsulti, La Pelota, and goldsmith schools. But, above all, more than 500 exhibitors from 40 countries are expected, with foreign countries representing about 70% of the total, with an estimate of over 8,000 jewels on display.

In reality, for Prodes Italia, the stop of activities due to the pandemic was only physical, certainly not planning. These long months have in fact allowed us to study and work on new formats and develop new relationships. We are therefore excited to see how the event, in recent years, has matured and grown and, above all, we are happy to expect a very strong presence of visitors from abroad, who will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a four-day event dedicated to jewelery at 360. °, made up of workshops, exhibitions, live performances and much more.

Vicenzaoro warms up the engines

In Italy, the spring of events dedicated to jewelry has already begun. After the postponement of Vicenzaoro to March (an event that was scheduled for the end of January) due to the pandemic, the improvement in health conditions led to a general redefinition of the dates by Ieg, the organizing company. Vicenzaoro January, therefore, has been moved to March 17-21, 2022, together with T. Gold (fair dedicated to machinery for jewelery). Thanks to vaccinations, safety measures and descent of the pandemic peak in all countries, from mid-March Vicenza will be able to reopen the pavilions in complete safety according to the health safety management protocols (#Safebusiness by Ieg and Gbac Star) by now successfully applied and tested in the editions of September 2020 and 2021 as well as in all the events that took place on the various exhibition plants affected by Ieg.

VicenzaOro January 2020

On the other hand, VO Vintage, an event open to the public of collectors and fans of vintage watches and jewels, has slipped to September. In its place, a new project dedicated to the presentation of the most important innovations in the contemporary watchmaking sector is planned. Vo Vintage, which was on the agenda with Vicenzaoro January, does not seem to work on the new March dates.

Italian Exhibition Group has already begun the discussion on operational details with exhibitors, and is defining, together with the tourism promotion agency of Vicenza (Vicenzaè) and the hoteliers of the whole province, an agreement that guarantees the possibility of moving bookings already made for January to the new March dates without any penalty for Vicenzaoro exhibitors and visitors. This is not a secondary aspect from an economic point of view.

Therefore, in March, Vicenzaoro, the largest European event dedicated to the gold and jewelery sector, returns, simultaneously with T. Gold, the international exhibition of the most innovative machinery and technologies applied to goldsmithing and precious items organized in partnership with Afemo. The event, a real flagship of the events on Ieg technology, will show the hardware of the sector, with the innovations that affect the production process. In agreement with Ieg, the Municipality of Vicenza has also decided to reposition Vioff, the Fuori Fiera di Vicenzaoro, in the new dates of the event between business, culture, music and pleasure of Italian flavors.

In the coming months, in addition to Vicenzaoro, TGold and VO Vintage, Ieg’s jewelery agenda includes further important events for the entire world jewelery community.
In February (22-24) the brand new event in the United Arab Emirates will be staged Jewelery, Gem and Technology Dubai organized with Informa Markets and the first international B2B show to reopen in 2022 and in May (7-10) the Arezzo district will return to shine with the Oroarezzo event dedicated to Art of Manufacturing, where the best of Made in Italy goldsmith production meets the top buyers of the most important markets in the world, from Asia to North America.

VicenzaOro warms up the engines

What will be the return of VicenzaOro September is outlined. The great jewelery fair, which last gave way, due to a pandemic, to the reduced version of Voice, resumes the usual format with companies, buyers and, above all, a more serene atmosphere. The title devised for the next edition is The state of art. In short, a little generic: there is everything inside, more. But the idea is precisely to take stock of the situation after a year lived dangerously.

VicenzaOro, organized by Italian Exhibition Group, will be held from 10 to 14 September, obviously at the Vicenza Fair. T. Gold, the international exhibition for machinery and advanced technologies for the processes of designing and manufacturing the jewel, is also back. It is usually scheduled for January, but this year it moves to September, in the same exhibition halls. Second test for VoVintage (11-13 September), the marketplace for vintage watchmaking and jewelry, a space also open to the public of enthusiasts and collectors.

In any case, the event does not lose its digital side: companies will be able to use Ieg’s interactive business matching platform, The Jewelery Golden Cloud. Furthermore, as always, VicenzaOro will also investigate trends in styles and design, and will focus on moments of analysis and study on the state of the art of the sector with the involvement of the most experienced stakeholders and sector players that are partners of IEG. Some of these events will be visible all over the world thanks to live streaming.

Given that prudence is never too much, the application of the #safebusiness by Ieg plan remains valid, launched in 2020 to guarantee a safe and at the same time agile fair experience: the company is the first trade fair and congress player in Italy to have obtained for its offices the Gbac Star accreditation, the global certification program of international standards of cleaning, sanitation and prevention of infectious risks for environments and personnel promoted by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (Gbac).

The Voice-Vicenzaoro program

With small steps, but with a loud Voice. The stages of approach foreseen by Ieg to Voice, the alternative event (12 to 14 September 2020) in Vicenzaoro, cintempate the schedule of the scheduled meetings: it is no coincidence that Voice is the acronym of Vicenzaoro International Community Event, an innovative format that Italian Exhibition Group organizes with the involvement of 300 companies present and training events. Here, then, are the main events in the spaces of the Vicenza Fair.

The Sotheby’s super auctions are back, here is the calendar

All the economy’s activities, hibernated by the coronavirus, return to (almost) normal: even the jewelery auctions. Sotheby’s has unveiled its new season of jewelry auctions, with dates re-adjusted from the pre-coronavirus calendar. Traditional auctions, often considered a critical factor for the market, follow a series of successful online sales. The results achieved in the last five weeks have been facilitated by Sotheby’s long-term omnichannel strategy, i.e. sales both with auctions in physical locations and via the web.

Unprecedented times are often a catalyst for change, crystallising pre-existing trends and accelerating innovations. In the past few weeks, we have seen the jewellery market further completing its digital revolution: our online sales realised some of their best performances ever, with many new and young collectors from around the world joining. It is also very clear that people are now confident in buying and selling important jewels online. As we look forward to welcoming jewellery lovers back to our salesrooms and exhibitions, we are excited to push ahead with innovative formats in the coming months, starting with the single-lot online sale of a sensational Tutti Frutti bracelet by Cartier at the end of this month.
David Bennett, world president of Sotheby’s jewelry division

It’s VicenzaOro January time

VicenzaOro turns on the engines for the January appointment. Here are the changes ♦ ︎

Just as jewelers renew their collections, in the same way those who propose a window to jewels try to offer innovations that may interest companies and the public. For this reason VicenzaOro January promises to get changes that aim to stimulate attention and, above all, to be functional to the product it offers, ie a trade fair. In this case, moreover, for sector operators the attention is double, given that VicenzaOro is combined with T-Gold, the international exhibition for machinery and advanced technologies for jewelery design and manufacturing processes.

VicenzaOro January 2019. Copyright: gioiellis.com

Both salons are scheduled from 17 to 22 January. A date chosen by the organizers of Italian Exhibition Group which, on paper, seems propitious, given that Baselworld this year slipped at the beginning of May along with Sihh, an appointment dedicated to high watchmaking. In short, in fact VicenzaOro becomes the largest event in the sector until the beginning of summer. An aspect that suggested the hashtag #primavicenzaoro, a punishment to Swiss rivals. In any case, Ieg now controls in Italy almost all the jewelery-related exhibition activity, with the two VicenzaOro in January and September, Oroarezzo and Gold Italy. Only the Precious World organized at the Tarì of Caserta remains outside.

The combination of business and innovation is inescapable and at every edition our events are enriched. In this case, an appointment from scratch from Vo Vintage, an original exhibition dedicated to vintage watches and jewelery with unique pieces and rarities among the most sought after in the world, an announcement that is liked to the entire market.

In particular, in the Icon area, which houses the major jewelery brands, the presence of Maison such as Crivelli, Damiani and Roberto Coin, which will presents new collections such as Petals and Rock and Diamonds, is confirmed. The novelty, instead, is represented by Gismondi 1754, a historic Genoese brand that debuted on the Stock Exchange on December 18, with the new Dedalo collection. Among the traditional brands of Naples and surroundings, there will be De Simone, and Chantecler. From abroad confirmed the presence of the award-winning Nikos Koulis, from Greece, and of the German fashion house Stenzhorn, while from Australia the pearls of Autore are expected.

The Design Room, the area reserved for trendy designers, also returns in January. And the renewal? A novelty, as we have already written on gioiellis.com, will be VicenzaOro Vintage (18-20 January), organized in the foyer of the first floor of the Vicenza Fair, and dedicated to jewelery and watches. Unlike VicenzaOro, the salon dedicated to vintage will be open to enthusiasts, who will be able to see the collections of great collectors like Sandro Fratini and meet experts like Giulio Papi, the world’s most famous watchmaker.

We will be at Vo Vintage to meet a selected and prepared audience. Selling vintage also means selling the history and culture of the object of the era, allowing enthusiasts to discover and relive the taste of the watch of the past, making them fall in love with the story behind it.

Alongside the Vintage novelty, the focus on sustainability developed and deepened in all its aspects is confirmed in the agenda with Cibjo, as well as in the traditional Digital Talks and in the Gem Talks. Instead, the world of technology goes into the fair: in fact, a hackaton was announced in collaboration with the University of Padua. The word hackton is used to indicate an event involving experts from different fields of computer science: software developers, programmers and graphic designers. In this case it will involve 60 thousand students and researchers called to find business solutions on new ways of wearing a jewel and making packaging. At VicenzaOro the 40 best proposals will come to submit to an advisory board composed of companies and industry players.

What does T-Gold propose?

The fair offers a complete overview of the sector including shows, seminars and workshops for an increasingly international and heterogeneous market. Around 160 exhibiting companies of the world scenario are planned.

Who’s in Tefaf in New York

The Tefaf edition in New York houses jewels and jewelers of great value, from Jar to Reza ♦
Back to Tefaf, the most important art and jewelry market. Obviously this is not the original edition, which takes place in Maastricht, but of the one in New York. The Tefaf New York Springtime takes place from May 4 to 8, 2017 and is held in the historic Armory Park Avenue. As mentioned, there are jewels, moderns or antiques, but all of exceptional value. There will be, for example, exclusive pieces of Jar, sought after by collectors. It’s no coincidence that some opening hours are reserved for VIPs. But also of Bulgari. And you will also find jewelery designed by artists of the artefact or sculpture, like Max Ernst, Giò Pomodoro and Louise Nevelson. Straight from Place Vendôme is another famous jeweler, Reza. Here are the useful info.

Thomas Sabo for Christmas

Christmas with Thomas Sabo and a number of inspired jewelry at parties, snow and winter.
Christmas and winter are two twin concepts also in jewelery. And so the large jewelry brands have the opportunity to propose themed collections. Thomas Sabo, German giant of the jewelry easy to wear, does not escape the this law, inspired to jewelry with crystal and snow shape. The pieces of Glam & Soul Diamonds and Triangle Diamonds series, are made with diamonds that tune well with the white color matched to winter. But, in fact, jewels inspired winter and snow are also distributed in other collections, up to the several beads that are used to customize bracelets and necklaces. The launch of brand in Italy was combined with a commercial initiative: every customer who purchases items for a value equal to or greater than 99 euros, on online store or at selected partner, will receive free the pocket diary by Thomas Sabo. In Italy the German brand has come only a few months, but already has over a hundred shops. Giulia Netrese
