Agli anni Venti è dedicato il collier Charleston

Damiani, 10 for 90 years

Damiani’s 90 years through its jewels. The company from Valenza (Piedmont) is celebrating a historic anniversary this year, so much so that it has decided to mark the occasion with a series of events. But it is also interesting to retrace the evolution of style: this is what the company has decided to do with the Damiani 90th Anniversary collection, which brings together a representative jewel for each decade, starting from 1920.

Starting with the Charleston collier, a refined piece of jewelry with pear-shaped diamonds and an Art Nouveau design that alludes to the style of the founder, Enrico Grassi Damiani. Cascade is, instead, a double-faced bracelet dedicated to the Thirties. The design alludes to a cascade of diamonds, white (675) on the outside and black (623) on the inside. The Legend bracelet is dedicated to the Forties, war and post-war. A vaguely military line. There is a reason: it is inspired by a collection that Enrico Grassi Damiani had to produce during the autarchy period (nothing could be imported), when gold could not be used. He had, in fact, used iron. This semi-rigid bracelet has a lateral pavé with 264 white diamonds fixed on articulated elements.

The Tassel necklace, inspired by the 1950s, is composed of a torchon chain made with 194 grams of rose gold. It is soft to the touch: it was designed with the aim of recreating the texture and consistency of a fabric. The 1960s, with miniskirts and geometric designs, often in black and white, are trends that interested Damiano Grassi Damiani in his time. And here are the Optical earrings, with a very bright pavé on thin sheets of gold. The flower children of the Seventies are represented in the collection by Bloom, a necklace or bracelet with colored stones in a floral motif: 178 white diamonds, 6 pink sapphires, 5 amethysts, 7 citrines and 6 blue topazes.

The hedonism of the Eighties is instead the inspiration for Tribute, a domed bracelet with the Damiani name composed of letters that are amethysts, quartz, peridots and diamonds. The letters stand out on a pavé composed of 1,176 brown, gray and white diamonds. And here we are in the Nineties with the Moonshine ring. It is the metaphor of the desire for new conquests, with white, gray and pink pearls in relief on a pavé of diamonds. In total eight pearls selected for size and color shades on a pavé of 356 diamonds. The Millennium inspired the bracelet of the D.Side line designed by Silvia Damiani together with Brad Pitt. A diamond pavé embraces the circumference, with large brilliant diamonds in the profile. In total 472 white diamonds, weighing 20 carats. Finally, the first decade of the new century is represented by the Damianissima necklace, with the pendant engraved with the repeated D and studded with 262 diamonds, white on one side and black on the other, on rose and burnished gold.
