Afternoon, stile tribale

With 47 necklaces, Swarovski’s summer

Swarovski puts spring to the test. For the new season, and for the summer, the brand famous for its crystals pays homage to art. For example, there are jewels inspired by the concepts of tribal glamour and monochromatic blue. “In colors, silhouettes, materials and textures, art has always been a source of inspiration for designers and fashion creators,” according to Nathalie Colin, creative director of Swarovski. The result is, in reality, a mix of signs that recall tribal craftsmanship to contemporary art. The designers also chose to focus on earth tones and primary colors. “The interactions between these influences create a style of jewelry that is both unique and universal, for all women and for every day,” continues Nathalie Colin.

The Glamour Tribale line is inspired by African art and craftsmanship, but reinterpreted in an urban key: yellow gold, gold-plated or silver-plated metals with simple materials such as wood, leather or rope, and processes that transform them into animal prints, hammered settings and mobile edges. Examples are the Video pendant and Stone bracelets, in rose gold, silver and black. Or the oversized Auburn bracelets, in metal and leather. The Arty pendant and earrings make an impact with their central crystals and pavé with Pointiage, an exclusive technique that involves the manual application of crystals. Like a tribal mask, the long Afternoon earrings form a set with a cocktail ring in which the metal creates a cage that encloses a large stone. Among other things, there are pieces with a double function, two in one, with removable sections that allow you to customize the jewel. For example, the triple Video ring, in a mix of rose gold plating and black PVD with transparent crystal pavé, can be separated and worn as a single or double version.

Let’s get to the colors: natural pigments allow the creation of primary shades. Among the colors, there is blue, used in a monochromatic version. The crystal blends more closely with the fabrics, as in the Amazing set, which combines different sections of Crystal Rock, the new favorite material from Swarovski, in denim shades from raw indigo to stonewash. Among the colors for the summer, the classic turquoise and aqua green could not be missed, used for pearl necklaces, earrings, bracelets and pendants decorated with a faceted crystal cabochon.
