The actress, in fact, gave a necklace of citrine to the Smithsonian Institution’s Gem Collection. The Smithsonian Institution is an educational and research with annexed an important museum, administered and funded by the US government. The gift is part of the jewelery collection of Angelina Jolie and is one of the result of collaboration between the actress and the American designer of fine jewelry, Robert Procop. The necklace is made of gold, with 64 stones in cushion-cut, with a largest central stone of 177.11 carats pear cut. The jewel has the name of Jolie Citrine Necklace and is now displayed in the Hall of Geology, Gems and Minerals. It will remain on display indefinitely. It is the same room that contains the Hope diamond, sapphire Star of Asia and other famous gems. The generous Jolie said: “The Smithsonian has educated so many of us, this gem is a symbol of our efforts to help educate underprivileged children in conflict zones in the world.” Matilde de Bounvilles
