The tea at the Ritz Carlton in Hong Kong is served in a very special trunk. Not only because it is handmade by London artisans, but because it offers haute cuisine delicacies and holds a treasure: a series of jewels from the Graff Diamonds collections. Between a panna cotta on a nest of gold leaves, 2002 Dom Pérignon jellies, Osetra caviar and fois gras served on a tray by the personal butler, from one of the drawers of the old-fashioned luggage, rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces studded with diamonds and precious stones with a unique design emerge, because they do not follow the fashion of the moment. And the same goes for the menu, no fusion or molecular cuisine: the sources of inspiration are the famous Graff Diamonds, namely the Delaire Sunrise and the Graff Pink. According to Pierre Perusset, general manager of the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, afternoon tea has become an unmissable event in the former colony of the United Kingdom. But what makes it memorable is the combination of culinary art, luxurious leather manufacturing, precious jewels and, above all, the best service in the best hotel in the world. Given the premises, the bill, 1,400 dollars for two people, is not that expensive after all.
