It’s called Mother’s Day but, perhaps, it’s also the feast of the jewel, be it a ring, a bracelet, a pair of earrings, a necklace. The day, in fact, is one of the occasions when the gift of a jewel, it is not necessary that it is something exceptional, it is very appreciated by women. On the other hand, Mother’s Day is widespread in many countries around the world.
There is not a single day of the year common to all states, but in almost two thirds of the countries of the world the festival is celebrated in May, while the remaining fourth celebrates the mother in March. In Europe, the United States, Japan, Australia and many other countries, the feast falls on the second Sunday of May, the 12th for 2019. But in the Balkan countries, Mother’s Day coincides with the day dedicated to women, on the 8th March. And in many Arab countries the party falls instead on the day of the spring equinox.
