Darkened silver with ruthenium and candid porcelain: the contrast gives life to Lladrò’s Orchid collection ♦ ︎
Lladró is a Spanish company from Valencia that has been offering porcelain objects for 60 years, exporting them to over one hundred countries around the world. Among the porcelain objects, the Maison also produces bijoux, such as those of the new Orchid collection, conceived by Pierre Favresse, creative director of Lladró.
As it is easy to understand, they are bijoux with the shape of flowers with immaculate petals. The porcelain orchids are handcrafted, also joined to chains and silver links passed in a ruthenium bath, which darken the metal, with a decided contrast compared to the delicate surface polished by porcelain. Porcelain, incidentally, is not as delicate as one might think: they are easily used for rings, earrings, pendants and bracelets. To give some idea of the prices: a pair of long earrings 390 euros, brooch 350 euros, ring 210 euros, bracelet 425 euros. Margherita Donato
