Christofle has always been synonymous with silver. For some years, however, it has also been synonymous with quality jewellery: modern, precious design, but at the same time within the reach of mere mortals. People who, however, must appreciate the design, the refined line of bracelets or rings, the effort to reinvent the shapes. In short, it is not just silver jewellery. They are pieces with character. Christofle presented the latest lines in Milan, in the Corso Venezia store. These are the In Connection, Pliage lines of metal ribbons, the Collection 925 rings, and Vif Argent… Four designers (three women and one man) tried their hand at creating them. In the next few days Gioiellis.com will show you all the possible choices, with relative prices. Let’s start with Claire Devé’s Pliage line, which is in her second try with Christofle. For those who don’t know French, it’s a good idea to explain that Pliage in Italian means folding. And this is what happens with the silver metal ribbon, which is transformed into rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces and cufflinks. «Wrapped around the fingers and wrists, tied to the links and pendants of a necklace, these rectangular strips rigorously trace the curves of a graphic femininity», they tell Christofle. Seems like an apt description.
