The exhibition dedicated to the treasures of the Buccellati Foundation in the frescoed rooms of Palazzo Pitti, in Florence. As we have already said, it is a unique opportunity to see the Buccellati goldsmith masterpieces of the last hundred years brought together. The exhibition lives up to its promise and the setting encourages the sensation of being immersed in a dimension between art and history. The images you can see, taken at the press preview of the inauguration, give just an idea of the pieces on display. And it is interesting not only for their uniqueness, but because if in the first room the creations of Mario and Gianmaria are compared, even in their arrangement, in the third you can see the evolution of Gianmaria’s personal technical and formal research, who, visiting these places in 1968, decided to start his own collection of cups, vases and boxes, inspired by Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo art, without any commercial purpose. A sort of challenge to try your hand at the great works of the past and perhaps also a divertissement for those who said: “In my life I have designed over 200 thousand jewels, and I have been working for 70 years, this is the fulfillment of a dream”. Those who can go to Florence would do well to plan the trip.
