Electric jewelry is increasingly trendy: this time it’s rings and pendants that have incorporated NFC technology. It’s an acronym that stands for Near filed communication and is, in essence, what allows you to pay using your cell phone (those that are equipped with it, obviously) a few centimeters away from a device like the ones that stores use for credit cards. Rings and pendants are not trinkets for technology maniacs, but real jewels. They were designed by Core Jewels, a Tokyo company that aims to combine technology with the concept of luxury. Rings and pendants are in yellow and pink gold, with diamonds. The collection is called One. NFC technology allows you to associate special functions with jewels: for example, access to your data stored in some internet services, or other user data. At the moment they have not yet been implemented for electronic payments, but in the future they could replace the credit card. In practice, it could be possible to pay by bringing your ring close to the credit card reader enabled for NFC technology. The electronic jewels will be on sale from December 10, but you can already pre-order them. A pendant costs about 240 euros, but it goes up to 2 thousand euros for the version with diamonds. The rings (for men or women) have a price between 1,300 and 1,500 euros.
