The Swiss luxury watchmaker Audemars Piguet presents the Royal Oak high jewelry collection.
Audemars Piguet is a Swiss company that manufactures luxury wristwatches. Founded in 1875 by Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet, it is based in Le Brassus, in the Vallée de Joux (Canton of Vaud). As of 2013, a descendant of the founders—Jasmine Audemars, great-granddaughter of Jules-Louis Audemars—still heads the company’s board of directors. The latest news is that the brand has unveiled a new high jewelry collection. This is a path already taken by other watchmaking houses that have expanded their scope of activity. Audemars Piguet established its own goldsmithing workshop in the 1980s and has been creating jewelry and unique high jewelry pieces since its inception; however, with the Royal Oak collection, it has chosen to make a major statement.

The jewelry is the work of Nathalie Barzilay, the Maison’s Strategy and Business Development lead. The collection shares its name with the brand’s most famous timepiece, the Royal Oak—first introduced in 1972 and designed by watch and jewelry designer Gérald Genta. The watch is renowned for its octagonal bezel and hexagonal screws—design elements that recur throughout the collection in necklaces, chokers, and rigid bracelets.

Another nod to watchmaking is found in the links, crafted from 18-karat yellow, white, and rose gold combined with titanium. The pieces also feature gemstones such as diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, tsavorites, topazes, tourmalines, amethysts, tanzanites, spessartites, and spinels. In total, the collection comprises 19 pieces—including necklaces, chokers, rigid bracelets, and earrings—divided into three sub-collections: Risoud Eclipse, Dream of Joux, and Frosted Gold. These names reflect the natural environment where the brand is based. For instance, the Dream of Joux lariat necklace draws inspiration from the Swiss mountain landscape, featuring a cascade of pear-cut diamonds and links made of blue anodized titanium. The lariat is split into two sections with distinct designs, joined by a central Royal Oak clasp. On one side, the blue titanium is studded with blue sapphires totaling 5.23 carats and showcases a 5-carat pear-shaped diamond pendant. Another standout piece in the collection is a necklace crafted from black PVD-coated titanium links, featuring five sugarloaf-cut emeralds totaling 16.50 carats. Each emerald is encircled by brilliant-cut diamonds and set in 18-karat white gold.
