It’s called Laly Jewels. It is a brand of handcrafted jewelry born a couple of years ago, at the initiative of Laura Di Clemente, who has decided to leave the legal world for the quality handicraft. With an idea: to create unique pieces only. “Spending money on a luxury good like a jewel, nowadays not everyone can afford it. But when the customer decides to treat yourself to a handmade jewel, wants, asks and appreciates that the piece is strictly unique” says the designer. The techniques used are the bead embroidery (beads embedded in the fabric) and the soutache (also in this case is provided for the fabric). Basically, the work consists of embed semiprecious stones, natural pearls, Swarovski crystals, using needle, thread and beads (in the case of Laly Jewels micro beads made in Japanese glass, all identical to each other). Embroidery is meticulous, precise, and the end result is striking. “I use only natural stones and, recently, some raku ceramic elements, which are also made by hand, to add further uniqueness to my creations” adds Laura.
“When I make a jewel custom-made, I stick strictly to the physical features and character of the customer; a jewel of measure must be perfectly calibrated on its colors, facial features and to emphasize its beauty (or to conceal defects), external and character. The collars, for example, are drawn on the neckline of the customer, just like a tailored suit, so it match perfectly with his body. For the realization of other custom jewelry (different from the collar), work very well send me photos of the customer”. Prices: a collar in bead embroidery costs between 250 and 350 euros. Earrings between 80 and 120 euros, bracelets between 90 and 150 euros, rings from 40 to 60 euros. The clutch was designed and made by hand, both in structure and in embroidery, costs about 500 euro. Last note: even the packaging that accompanies the jewelry is handmade, and each pack is matched to the jewel that contains.
