Maddalena Rocco’s Surprising Dreams

Painter? Sculptor? Jewelry designer? Who knows. You must first observe, with curiosity, the original works of Maddalena Rocco to decide which of these aspects prevails. Perhaps none: creativity goes hand in hand with the manual ability to propose unique objects, in three dimensions. They are not just jewels, but “also” jewels. If you want to see all of Maddalena’s works click here. After the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, Maddalena Rocco’s artisan training evolved with the burin technique, learned from Rino Zanuttig. Her zenith is reinterpreting the engraved jewel. It is difficult to describe the creative path, which oscillates between a dreamlike vision and, as she says, a “narrative drawing”. The result is certainly surprising. However, do not look for Maddalena Rocco’s jewels in some corner of the department store: they are unique works, which favor asymmetry. It is not the style of gioiellis.com to praise with hyperbolic adjectives the objects that we present in the photos. These, however, must be viewed with the necessary calm, because the reading path of each piece is different and preserves a creative effort that is not easily found around.
