Rihanna and Miley Cyrus like jewelry: the proof (if any were needed) comes from the charity gala held in Los Angeles. The auction was organized to raise funds for Amfar, a foundation against AIDS. For the occasion, Rihanna and Cyrus showed up with clothes (or, rather, with a few clothes) and their hands on their checkbooks. Rihanna shelled out $35,000 for a pair of diamond earrings (plus another $100,000 for a photograph of Elizabeth Taylor taken by Willy Rizzo, with the artist’s signature). Miley Cyrus, however, did more: she spent $500,000 on jewelry and a photograph of Ryan McGinley. “I’m a little drunk,” she said at the end. And also with a lighter wallet.
