Christie’s opens again the season of big auction of jewelry. In New York, on June 16, the house puts at auction more than 200 lots, including a range of colored and colorless diamonds, rare gems and jewels of big names. Estimates range from 8 thousand dollars up to 5 million, and the total sale is expected to reach $ 18 million. Among the most interesting are those that belonged to Margaret Adderley Kelly, wife of the founder of Kelly Services, a Fortune 500 rank company, that which today employs more than 550 thousand employees. Besides activity of philanthropy, Margaret was a lover of jewelry and gemstones. The Magnificent Jewels of Margaret Kelly Adderley are including an Art Deco necklace with a diamond pendant composed of exceptional (D color, Internally Flawless) of 16.24 carats. In the same collection is part of The Kelly Sapphire: a sapphire of 21.71 carats of Kashmir on a ring of Cartier.
Among the diamonds for sale, the top lot of the auction of 16 June is an impressive cushion cut diamond, with K color (white, low colored) of 80.73 carats.
Among the many jewels signed by the big fashion houses, we highlight a Tiffany bracelet of gold with chalcedony and diamond brooch in the shape of a tiger by Van Cleef & Arpels, gold, emeralds, diamonds and enamel, a panthère of Cartier, and a Art Deco bracelet of the same French brand.
