The Renaissance of Alessio Boschi

One of his latest creations is the Renaissance set, earrings and necklace in homage to the Florentine Renaissance. And here too, there is a whole story behind «The idea of a necklace came out in the afternoon of two and a half years ago when walking in the Bangkok stones center, I saw in a small banquet of a Brazilian trader, three magnificent pieces of rubellite, with an amazing color, raspberry, extremely rare, and exceptional size. Hence the inspiration to transform them into a jewel that simulates a stained-glass window: «Then, I thought I’d reproduce the Florence Cathedral. And here comes the Italian style». And in fact, in the two miniatures in the middle of the necklace, a micro mosaic carried out in Rome by a master craftsman of the Vatican, are depicted Brunelleschi’s dome and Maria de’ Medici. The same stone that also closes earrings miniatures depicting the Donatello’s David and the lily, symbol of Florence.
