She’s named Cassandre Malherbe. She is Belgian, but was conceived in California, was born and raised in Monaco as a “Rockstar Motocross World”, she explains. She is a designer who draws her inspiration from different environments: horse riding, from her hometown, from vintage jewelry to her mother, from travels, the nightlife of Paris, but also from Catholic upbringing. She spent her adolescence between studies and travels in Europe with her horse, coach and equipment, to participate in competitive riding for the Belgian national team. An ability that has led her to win a silver medal at the European Championships held in the Czech Republic Leaving Monaco, 17 years Cassandre moved to Paris to study art, entertainment, politics and international relations. An eclectic woman: “I had no idea what I wanted to do, but I knew exactly what kind of person I wanted to be”, she explains now.
Her first encounter with the work led her to take care of press relations for a brand of fashion and, later, to make the buyers to Paris for the most prestigious department stores in the U.S.. But it was not her destiny. “I’ve never been thrilled to work for others and I thought it was a waste of time, but in reality that’s how I learned it all”. Her way was, however, become a jewelry designer. A type of fine jewelry simple, but valuable. “You will never see pink gold, pink stones, skulls, snakes or something gold plated in my collections. Propose commercial pieces is very important, but I think you should stay true to what you like”, she adds. The world of Cassandre Malherbe has instead the goal of establishing a strong identity and give up the trend of the moment. The designer describes her jewelry as “timeless, elegant, solid gold pieces produced in very small quantities, aimed at women who choose uniqueness. Each collection explores a different theme, but all the pieces have their own distinctive character, but also a strong DNA in common”, continues Cassandre. “Who can afford wearing my jewelry pieces strong and flashy, but not to worry. My pieces are made to be worn while scuba diving in the Atlantic, while you make love, or skiing in the Swiss Alps. The moment you start being careful not to scratch a jewel, or keep it in a safe, means that do not have it, but that he owns you”.
