The jewelery sale organized by Faraone Casa d’Aste in Milan was quite successful, with 73% of sales out of the 307 lots presented. Jewels that were partly preceded by a long series of pre-auction offers. The Via Montenapoleone auction house closed its second and final annual event with the top lot, a white gold ring with cushion sapphire weighing 4.35 carats and surrounded by diamonds, with a starting price of just 2,000 euros, after a series of bids by the public in the room, via telephone and the MyFaraone App, it was sold for 18,000 euros. A tubigas bracelet signed Bulgari, Monete collection, from the late 1980s in yellow gold with three Gallia Massalia silver coins, starting from 3,000 euros and reaching 18,000.
A triptych of bracelets, which can be combined into a single necklace, in platinum and with round diamonds for a total of 8.40 carats, sold for 11,000 euros, also almost tripled the estimate. The collection of rings by David Webb was also well received, with winnings of very significant values compared to the starting ones. A seventies ring from the American Maison in white gold and platinum with rock crystal, black enamel and round diamonds with a starting value of 3,000 euros was sold for 7,000.
On the watch side, the Rolex Daytona Cosmograph 6263, from 1986, in perfect condition and owned by a single owner, with an additional original 6265 model bezel in steel and complete with box and guarantee, starting from a value of 60,000, it obtained a hammer price of 70,000.
Great jewels for sale with Faraone Casa d’Aste
Cartier, Bulgari, Van Cleef & Arpels, Buccellati, or niche brands such as Frascarolo, Faraone and Spallanzani: jewels and watches, as well as a certain number of luxury goods, are the protagonists of the sale organized by Faraone Casa d’Aste at the Portrait Hotel in Milan on May 24th. The sale can also be followed in streaming, by phone or through the Myfaraone app. The auction includes 300 lots. The most quoted piece is a ring with an octagonal cut Colombian emerald of about 21.70 carats and two triangular diamonds on the sides. Followed by a pair of pendant earrings with two old-cut diamonds at the ends of 4.45 and 4.65 carats respectively, flanked by a pair of earrings in platinum and white gold with drop and navette diamonds for a total of approximately 18 carats.
The catalog also includes two bracelets, one of which in platinum with 15.50 carats of diamonds, round and navette, and oval no-heat sapphires weighing a total of about 15 carats and one with a floral motif in white gold with oval cut Burmese rubies for a total of 24.50 carats and round diamonds totaling 9.80 carats. Also noteworthy is a yellow gold ring set with a brilliant-cut diamond of approximately 4.90 carats adorned with two rows of diamonds.
Also in the auction are Rolex, Vacheron Constatin, Piaget, Omega and Cartier wristwatches. At the end of the first afternoon session, a parenthesis of solidarity: Faraone Casa d’Aste has in fact embraced the worthy initiative of the Crieri jewelery brand to sell two bracelets of the latter, respectively one with seven strands in burnished gold with black diamonds for 9, 65 carats and colorless diamonds for 2.65 carats and another with three rows in white gold with diamonds for about 4.50 carats, and five paintings from the new photographic campaign. The proceeds will be entirely donated to the non-profit organization Me.Dea, an anti-violence centre, which provides assistance and support to women victims of violence and mistreatment, as well as actively engaging in promoting information, prevention and awareness campaigns for this delicate and current topic.
A single diamond not mounted on a ring was the top lot of the sale organized by Faraone Casa d’Aste in Milan. Jewellery, together with watches and luxury goods, totaled a total of 1.2 million euros, approximately 105% of the estimated value. A positive balance, therefore, which added to that of the auction held in May, marks +35% compared to the result of the two auctions in 2021. The protagonist was a 3.41-carat diamond, estimated at 30,000 euros and awarded for 50,000. A pair of brooches with sapphires and diamonds also stands out, sold for 13,000 euros, but with an estimate of 5,000. A solitaire ring in white gold, with a 3.12-carat round brilliant-cut diamond was auctioned for 26,000 against the 18,000 estimate, and a brooch in 9-carat rose gold, but with an octagonal emerald of 12.20 carats, arrived at 12,000 euros against the starting 1,500.
Also sold well were a platinum ring with a minor oil Colombian emerald weighing 3.60 carats, surrounded by diamonds (24,000), and a double-strand choker with natural saltwater pearls (27,000), a rigid yellow gold bracelet and white and diamonds (20,000) and a platinum ring signed Sabbadini with a cushion diamond of 8.45 carats, is sold for a value of 78,000 against the 50,000.00 estimate. Finally, a Cartier Chimere Open Bangle in yellow gold that started at 8,000 euros reached 77,000.
The pre-Christmas auction of Faraone Casa d’Aste is back in Milan. The auction is scheduled for November 30 and includes the first two rounds dedicated to jewelery and watches, while in a third, in the afternoon, Luxury Good will be staged, such as Hermès and Chanel bags and accessories. In all, 310 lots will be beaten. In addition to the jewels in the catalog, highly respectable diamonds are also included. The top lot, however, could be made up of diamonds over 3 carats: a brilliant cut of 3.41 carats, one of 3.13 carats and two of 2.71 and 2.49 carats are proposed. Signed Sabbadini are instead a platinum ring with a cushion diamond of 8.45 carats, with two tapered diamonds (trapezoidal baguette) on the sides, a solitaire in white gold with a brilliant cut diamond of 3.12 carats and one of 3.45 carats.
Among the Cartier jewels there is a rigid open bracelet in yellow gold with chimera heads finished with pavé diamonds for 19.34 carats and a rigid contrarié necklace in steel and gold with the classic panther heads at the ends. Of particular note is a series of historical jewels, such as a 1920s-1930s ribbon bracelet in platinum and diamonds and a mid-19th century riviére choker with 62 cushion-cut diamonds for a total carat weight of approximately 34.55 carats.
Also up for auction is a Belle Epoque brooch in platinum with old-cut diamonds for a total weight of approximately 4.85 and an early 1930s brooch in platinum, round huit huit diamonds for a total of 12 carats, and a yellow gold bracelet, defined as “A refined example of archaeological goldsmithing from the second half of the 1800s”.
For watch collectors, a new Rolex Daytona in steel Ref. 116500LN, two Patek Philippe: an Ellipse Ref. 4698 from the 1980s and a Tonneau from the years 1910/1915 stand out among the 39 on offer.
200 jewels for sale with Faraone Casa d’Aste
Faraone organizes two sales sessions in Milan dedicated to jewels and other luxury items, such as bags and objects for the home. In fact, luxury is also interpreted as a safe haven in difficult times, such as the ones we are going through. And jewels are in all respects part of this category, even more so when it comes to gems. Faraone Casa d’Aste is therefore preparing to beat 200 jewels in the morning on 25 May in two distinct sessions, while the 150 luxury goods including bags, glasses and porcelain are reserved for the afternoon session with the now tested live-streaming formula, with relaunches from part of the public connected by telephone, with the dedicated MyFaraone app and written offers.
Among the 200 lots of jewels stand out an Art Decò bracelet in platinum with diamonds for a total carat weight of about 55 ctarates, an early nineteenth-century necklace with 195-carat aquamarine and two diamonds of 7.46 and 5.38 carats respectively, as well as with a double strand of natural pearls. A white gold ring with a rectangular Mozambican ruby (no heat) of approximately 5.21 carats, surrounded by fancy yellow navette diamonds of approximately 3.22 carats, a Burma ruby (no heat) of 4.51 carats and a sapphire Loose Ceylon (no heat) of 9.18 carats together with other prestigious pieces by Cartier, Pomellato and Bulgari will close the session dedicated to jewelry.

A 1920 Art Déco ring in platinum and diamonds, with a rare iridescent Ceylon sapphire, weighing about 12 carats, sold for 36,000 euros (against 20,000 in the estimate), closed the sale of jewels organized in Milan (in streaming mode) ) by Faraone Casa d’Aste. There is also a return to normal with regard to auction sales of jewelery and watches. Even though Faraone Casa d’Aste has set another sale in live streaming mode for June 14th. On the other hand, the Milanese company points out, auctions in Italy in the first months of 2021 recorded turnover up by + 40%, compared to the same period in 2020. Now that the price of gold has started to rise again, the interest in precious goods as a safe haven therefore seems to be confirmed.

One of the protagonists will be an Art Deco ring in platinum and diamond with a rare iridescent octagonal Ceylon sapphire of about 12 carats, unheated and accompanied by a certificate from the Swiss foundation SSEF. Another piece to note is an ancient and rare demi-parure from the late 18th century, consisting of a necklace with floral motif, corset pendant / brooch and side pendants adapted to earrings, made of silver, gold, diamonds and rubies set with back foil. .
The list of niche jewelery lots also boasts a bracelet and a brooch signed Frascarolo from the Bestiario collection, an Art Nouveau pendant made in Spain around 1910 signed Masriera Hs, depicting a lady profile in 18 carat yellow gold, enamels, diamonds and sapphires and two 1950s bracelets signed by the sculptor Giò Pomodoro. An app for the next sale by Faraone Casa d’Aste
The covid has also changed the methods of auction sales. And digital platforms have become a valid system for completing sales: even Faraone Casa d’Aste has aligned itself with the new trend and on the occasion of the closed-door auction on 10 September launches its new app, with the aim to facilitate the enchantment even on smartphone. The launch of the app follows the interest shown by buyers at the auction on June 29, with significant use of digital devices. After the long lockdown period, the desire for jewelry auctions returns. There are two scheduled in Milan, organized by Faraone Casa d’Aste. The dates identified for the sale are June 29 and July 20. Although, compared to past years, the health emergency of the past few months has, however, reduced the number of pieces that will be beaten by a third: they are 200 compared to about 300 usual ones. It should be added that the two appointments will also be strictly regulated by the health security provisions in force: they will be behind closed doors and in live streaming, with the participation of the public by telephone, via the web and through written offers.
The first auction, scheduled at 15.30 on 29 June, will offer the first 100 lots, divided into jewelery by the most famous maisons such as Buccellati, Cartier, Sabbadini, Chantecler and Cusi, but also watches from brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier and Jaeger LeCoultre. So, this year the sale at the auction of jewels, but also of watches and precious objects, is scheduled for Monday 11 November at the Four Seasons Hotels in Milan.
Among the jewels entrusted to the Patrizia di Carrobio auctioneer stand out an en tremblant flower brooch signed Bulgari made of platinum with teardrop diamonds, shuttles, round and baguettes for a total of about 20 carats, estimated at 150,000-170,000 euros, a platinum ring with emerald Colombian of 8.81 carats (90,000-100,000), a rare Colombian emerald oil of 4.18 carats (65,000-75,000), a ring with a pink sapphire of about 6.53 carats (25,000-35,000), a ring with Unheated Burmese ruby of about 5.50 carats (40,000-50,000). Also in the same auction are precious objects that belonged to nobles of rank. Among the most interesting lots put up for auction are a rare snuff box from the Russian Imperial Court made by the Bolin jeweler, with an ivory miniature of the emperor Alexander II. The idea of giving a gift for Christmas by buying a jewel at auction is a pleasure. This is confirmed by the result of the sale of Faraone Casa d’Aste in Milan, which recorded a sale of 1.2 million euro, including rights, led by the auctioneer Patrizia di Carrobio. The sale, reserved not only to collectors, but also to the general public, had 350 lots in the catalog.
The most requested pieces were two strands of natural pearls.
Lots 169 and 170, composed respectively 49 pearls from 10/5 mm the first and 57 between 12/6 mm the second, have had a good response. The first, starting from an estimate of only 8 thousand euros, was awarded at a value of 34 thousand, while Lot 170, after a battle by means of raises between bidders in the hall and on the phone, was beaten at 105 thousand euros , despite starting from a base of only 20 thousand, in favor of a foreign merchant present in the room. Among the relevant lots also the 139, a ring, with a Burmese central ruby of 4.30 carats with two oval diamonds on the sides, which doubled the value of its base price to be beaten to 22 thousand euros.
Also worthy of note is the Arnaldo Pomodoro series, lot 168, in gilded silver and with serial number 44/50, awarded for € 3,400, from the starting base of 900. Same for lot 285, composed of two brooches signed by the sculptor Agenone Blacksmiths in 18-karat gold with cultured pearls, they started at 2 thousand euros and after a battle between gallerists reached the value of 5500 euros. The most sought-after is been to Lot 110, consisting of a pair of 18-karat white gold earrings with 2 fancy yellow diamonds (4.66 carats each) and two diamond triangles.
