Chanel also likes luxury jewelry. The new High Jewelry collection, Café Society, proves it. The style is complex, with many exotic, oriental nuances. Perhaps (probably) to capture the interest of the Asian markets, among the few that are growing strongly. Chanel presented 87 pieces of high jewelry. Of these, 18 were recently presented at the Paris Biennale for the first time. The collection presents unusual combinations of precious stones, with innovative cuts. There are checkerboard patterns of petals and folded prisms, in a kind of precious mosaic. Or, if you prefer, in a sort of puzzle of precious metals and gems. But not only that: there are also enamels in the “grand feu” tradition, a manufacturing technique that is now very rare, which produces very resistant surfaces. Here are some images of the collection.
