Yesterday’s jewels are confronted with the art and experimentation of tomorrow in the seventh edition of Ridefinire il Gioiello ♦ ︎
The jewel is always the same, but always different. The centuries pass, fashions multiply, the techniques evolve: consequently the jewels that accompany the history of humanity are in constant expectation of updating. An endless process that for eight years has come under the lens of Sonia Patrizia Catena, inspirer of Ridefinire il Gioiello.
The exhibition that focuses on the role of the jewel and its evolution returns to the Museum of Bijou of Casalmaggiore (Cremona).
From 24 November to 13 January 2019 the seventh edition of the exhibition presents 40 unpublished jewels, designed by Italian and foreign artists.
Since the Museo del Bijou preserves the memory of the style, the experiments and the aspirations of the past, the edition of Redifinire il Gioiello immediately becomes a comparison between eras and trends.
The project, the organizers point out, has already involved more than 3,500 artists, designers and goldsmiths, who have proposed the hybridization between experimental art and ornamentation.
Also this year the winners of the prizes selected by a jury will have the opportunity to exhibit at the Rossini Gallery of Marco Rossini, in Milan, during the Fuorisalone 2019, Dynamic Circuits for the wunderkammera project, Let’s Feel Good in Milan and the concept store in Rome myday-byday.
