What do Americans do with bicycles? Answer: they use them to turn them into jewelry. Well, almost. IceLink certainly uses part of it: the transmission chain between pedals and wheel. Also sold online on the Macy’s chain website, the Bicycle Collection consists of a long variation on the theme, which translates into many bracelets and some necklaces. It should appeal to hip-hop youth and its surroundings, but American designers say it was designed for an industrial-chic audience. Obviously the articulated steel chain, in some cases welded with plastic and crystals, is produced specifically to be used as jewelry. Please note: do not try to apply it to your bicycle. Besides, it would cost you too much.
