The collection Let’s take a tea in Lecce: embroidered three-dimensional volumes of silver and shaped by hand by Mumati.
Wrong who associates the tea to the ritual that takes place every day at 17 in the UK, or to the chai that is served in small glasses and sipped throughout the East. The Tea, in fact, it is drank in Lecce. The city of Puglia, famous for its baroque architecture, is now the subject of a collection by name rather unusual: Let’s take a tea in Lecce. In proposing the original line of jewelry it is Mumati, small Maison born 15 years ago from the ingenuity of the brothers Massimiliano and Tiziana Musardo. Obvious that the tea as jewelry you do not drink, but you look: necklaces, bracelets and earrings are made with pendants and elements that are inspired by teapots, cups, saucers and little spoons in 925% molded by hand. The shapes, three-dimensional, are made from thin wires which form an embroidery which constitutes the surface of the pendants. Those aren’t simple volumes to accomplish and give an idea of craftsmanship behind. An idea of prices: the silver bracelet costs 1,300 euro to the public. Giulia Netrese
