Who knows if the exhibition in Rome dedicated to Frida Kahlo was a source of inspiration? The fact is that Aonie, a Milanese brand led by two sisters, Paola and Consuelo Coti, is launching a capsule collection linked to the Mexican artist of the twentieth century, Frida Kahlo. The jewels of this collection show, in short, some motifs of the great Central American state and graphic signs that are found in the portraits of the painter. Gold-plated, lacquered earrings, pendants and necklaces, enriched with semiprecious stones, retain the idea of the garlands of flowers, petals and leaves that appear in Frida’s self-portraits. Aonie uses semi-precious materials such as silver, onyx, pearls and coral. The processing of the materials is artisanal.
