A golden serpent, symbol of temptation and sin. But also the Chinese zodiac sign under which 2013 opens. The sinuous reptile is now transformed into a necklace designed by Elsa Peretti, Tiffany designer since 1994, who has designed a jewel that is once again inspired by the shapes of nature. The soft movement of the snake transforms into a jewel composed of a series of yellow gold rings handmade by skilled craftsmen. “It’s not that I particularly love snakes, but I found many of the ones I saw beautiful,” explained Elsa Peretti. «The inspiration for this necklace was born a long time ago. I was in Lausanne and a Texan boy gave me the end of a rattlesnake’s tail as a good luck charm. I had this idea in mind for many years and finally managed to make it in both yellow gold and silver thanks to the expertise of the master craftsmen and my determination.” The Snake necklace has a retail price of 9,400 euros.
