Affordable gold? It might seem like an oxymoron (and in Italian it becomes a play on words). Yet the jewels of the Queriot Boutique made with 9-carat gold have nothing to envy in terms of shine to those of 18 k (at least in appearance). 9-carat gold for 24 grams of alloy has 9 grams of yellow metal, or 37.5% of “pure gold”. If to the eye you don’t see much difference, on the other hand 9k jewels cost less. Of course, the idea is not new: it has a long tradition that dates back to the Victorian era and continues to this day in Anglo-Saxon countries. But offering high jewelry, without size limits, thanks to the combination of design and all-Italian skills, is an intuition of Francesco Minoli. A former banker, then CEO of Pomellato, after founding the Queriot brand in 2010, named after the first horse born in his stable, the following year he opened the first flagship store in Milan.
