Spring, nature, sustainability: three ideas that made the new Anabela Chan collection flourish. The series of earrings and brooches from the Blooms collection were created with a revolutionary idea: they are made with recycled aluminum. The metal is that of the beverage cans. Reused, and combined with gold and gems created in the laboratory, it becomes a material for refined jewelry. Judge for yourself: just look at these images to understand that recycling even the most humble materials can turn into sustainable luxury.

The project, explains the London-based Hong Kong designer, has lasted two and a half years, since 2017. Before arriving at this exceptional result, Anabela Chan experimented with many attempts in the melting and refining processes of aluminum cans, expired at a temperature of 600 degrees centigrade. And then, after being transformed into metal bars, used in combination with the traditional artisanal method of lost wax casting. The metal takes on intense colors, sometimes iridescent.

The jewels then took the form of exuberant flowers, with the addition of synthetic, but quality gems, often with an unusual cut, such as the trilliant one. The elements were worked by hand, individually. Even the choice of using synthetic gemstones was really decided out of respect for the nature and conditions of those working on the extraction. This is the idea from which Lebole Gioielli’s The Circle collection originated years ago. The capsules are produced by a specialized company that works for wineries all over the world, printed on a design by Barbara Lebole. And, for the feast of lovers, Lebole Gioielli exactly offers earrings from The Circle collection, which obviously have a round shape, mounted in gold galvanized brass and natural stones. Lebole Gioielli is a brand so tied to the world of fabrics. And it is not a news that Japan‘s charm is the leitmotif of its collections, given Barbara Lebole’s preference for the Land of the Rising Sun. Here, then, is the Tan-Mono collection.

The tan-mono, in fact, is a roll of fabric from which a kimono is obtained, the traditional dress of Japanese women. The fabric is 36 cm wide, i.e. the maximum width of a traditional Japanese loom. Precisely for this reason the kimono is packaged in strips. The length of the tan-mono instead varies according to the size of the kimono. Even today, in traditional kimono shops, the customer chooses and buys the tan-mono and the garment packaging is separate.

In the case of Lebole Gioielli, on the other hand, Japanese tan-mono are spread on leather with a particular procedure. And then they are transformed into earrings. In the Tan-Mono collection the pair of earrings is made up of two equal elements. In the symmetrical composition geometric figures are used decorated with stones of different colors and mounted in gold galvanized brass.

The collection is designed by Paolo Perugini, an eclectic Tuscan artist, who extends his art from sculpture to architecture to arrive at fashion as in this case. Public price: under 70 euros.

Lebole Gioielli is a brand that is characterized by two choices: the use of fabric as a recurring material, in particular that used for Japanese kimonos, and the proposal almost exclusively of earrings. Alongside these cornerstones, there is a third: the reference of the collections to themes related to art, history and culture. As for the Middle Ages collection, however partially relinquishes the first characteristic, the fabric, used only for some pieces.

Now the collection is joined by earrings with bows, in a literal sense: the ornamental knot in this case represents a weave, a commitment and at the same time a free bond, which can however be dissolved by pulling one of the end parts of the bow.

The bow earrings are made in three sizes and sold individually. However, they can be combined with all the others from the Middle Ages collection. The bow is made with the same silver lace trimmed with clover and galvanized gold, the leitmotiv of the whole collection. The earring has been decorated exclusively with natural stones in two colors: pearl and black.

Gucci roars again with the new collection that pays tribute to one of its most iconic symbols, the lion’s head, which accompanies the products of the Kering group’s Maison from the seventies. It is a collection composed of only six pieces whose subject is the king of the forest, and which includes three necklaces and as many earrings. The necklaces are made with a chain of rings of two different sizes, with pendant. The earrings are instead an elaborate version of the stud kind.

A pair, necklace and earrings, is made of 18 carat white gold and set with diamonds. The jaws of the lion enclose an aquamarine. The second version is, instead, made of 18 carat yellow gold and embellished with diamond eyes. In this case the lion holds an amethyst in its jaws. Finally, the third pair is in 18-carat yellow gold, with the same diamond eyes, but with a chrono diopside gem grabbed by the feline’s teeth.

A Japanese circle for Lebole Jewels

The ancient Japanese graphic sign ensō inspired a new collection by Lebole Gioielli ♦ ︎

The ensō graphic sign is the most common in Japanese calligraphy. As often happens in the East, the meaning is elusive or, better, multiple: ensō symbolizes enlightenment, strength and the universe, but also simply a circle. Closed or open? Revealed or hidden? The choice and the attribution are your. But ensō is also an image and, therefore, it is possible to limit oneself to the aesthetic effect. From Japan to Italy: the Lebole Gioielli brand has used, since its debut, eight years ago, Japanese icons and fabrics, from which Barbara Lebole is fascinated, as a symbol of the culture and art of the Land of the Rising Sun.

One of the new collections has therefore decided to be inspired by the graphic sign of ensō, an operation entrusted to the sculptor and designer Peru, the name of art by Paolo Perugini. The characteristic of Perugini art is the recovery and reuse of materials and in this new collection he uses circles of metal galvanized gold and semi-circles of leather covered with silk from ancient Japanese kimonos. The total composition is decorated with colored stones that match the colors of the fabrics. The pairs of symmetrical earrings develop in three sizes.

Gucci launched its Le Marché des Merveilles collection in 2015. Over time it has added new pieces, including two in 2019. The pieces are made of 18 carat yellow and white gold, with an elaborate pavé of white diamonds and completed by the Gucci double G logo. One of Tamara Comolli’s favorite shapes, along with that of the acorn, is the drop. Preferably of seawater, because the German designer loves waves and beaches. In any case, the Signature collection, launched years ago is inspired by the shape of the drop. Stretched, smooth or covered with diamonds, alone or in the company of other drops, it makes the appearance of the jewels of this collection almost liquid.

In 2019 three new creations were added to the Signature collection: Wave pendant earrings, available in three versions of gold, white, yellow and pink and in as many models. The first, small model, light, consists of two elements, a smaller drop at the lobe and a larger one as a pendant.

In the medium-sized earrings the sequence of the three gold drops is animated by the asymmetry of the diamond decoration (about 0.50 carats). The pavé drops are positioned at different heights. Finally, long version earrings aim for a greater effect. All three are added, of course, to the other pieces in the collection.
