The Coral by Giovanni Raspini

Coral turns into silver in Giovanni Raspini’s new collection. It is not the first line of jewelery that the Tuscan brand dedicates to the marine world, an environment that inspired the founder’s creative mind. The new collection is called Coral and uses shapes and volumes of the underwater plant which, in reality, is composed of tiny organisms typically gathered in branched colonies. The collection does not lose sight of the typical style of the Maison, specialized in silver jewellery. But, as with other collections, a gold-plated jewelry version is also offered for Coral.

As the name of the line suggests, the jewels have a design that reproduces the natural ramifications of marine corals. The collection includes a bracelet, two necklaces, two rings, four earrings (including a pair of right or left ear cuffs, thus experimenting with the shape that wraps the auricle), in both versions: natural silver or gilded .

Pianegonda Assoluto rings

The Assoluto collection by Pianegonda was the novelty designed by the brand’s creative director Betony Vernon, who chose model Anna Cleveland as its face. The collection, as the name suggests, is inspired by sidereal concepts that fly beyond infinity, but in practice it is made up of silver jewelery with soft and minimal lines, with volumes that ideally depict elementary particles and celestial bodies. A design that has been developed in many aspects: from the first jewels in silver only, to those added later with the addition of leather elements, with an echo of the punk style.

Finally, here is a series of rings that combine silver with a series of small colored spheres. These spherical elements are made of agate available in the different colors that the gem can take on, i.e. red, black, white, blue and green, with the addition of a purple variant, which in this case however is amethyst. The stone spheres are symmetrically contrasted by an identical silver sphere. Price: 120 euros.

Giovanni Raspini flourishes with Blossom

In spring silver also flourishes with Blossom, one of Giovanni Raspini‘s latest collections. The Tuscan Maison has chosen the classic floral theme which gives all the chromatic charm of natural pink freshwater pearls, with shades that allude to the flowering of the peach tree. The tones are delicate and always slightly different in their harmony. To give even greater luminosity, the pearls were combined with burnished silver elements treated with the diamond-cutting technique and which depict tiny flowers. Diamonding, for those who are not familiar with this goldsmith technique, is used to make the metal more brilliant by adding tiny scratches made, in fact, with a diamond tip.

Silver jewelery thus presents a surface with microscopic facets that reflect light. The Blossom collection includes a choker necklace, a Chanel-style necklace with hammered chain, a pendant, two bracelets, two rings and a pair of earrings.

The Boccadamo Love Knot

A knot to keep a bond of love firm or, let’s admit it, to keep it away from possible temptations: Bottega Boccadamo, an accessible Italian jewelry brand, has chosen this universal symbol for a collection that includes necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings in silver essential or plated in the two versions in rose gold and yellow gold. In the jewels of the Nodo d’amore collection the protagonists are intertwined hearts, single and double knots and symbols of infinity, characteristic elements of the iconography.

Knots are the protagonists of pendants in necklaces, central in bracelets and rings and are also present in earrings, button or semi-circle. The company also underlines an eco-sustainable approach through the use of recycled silver, to remember the maison’s constant commitment to a responsible business model.

Color rings for Giovanni Raspini

Silver in color: Spring 2024 brings four new shades to the Maison Giovanni Raspini. Among the new collections proposed by the Tuscan brand, rings that use the contrast between metal and colored gems stand out. It is no coincidence that the mini collection is simply called Anelli Color. The jewels use burnished silver, the house specialty, cast with the ancient lost wax technique, together with hydrothermal quartz: that is, they are synthetic stones created in the laboratory based on the model of natural ones.

Anello serpente
Snake ring

There are four Color Rings and they fit into Giovanni Raspini’s animalier trend. The jewels show four different decorations, which embrace the stone and above the settings, embellished with a vegetal frieze. The Leopard (along with citrine-colored quartz), the Snake (amethyst-colored quartz), the Sea Turtle (aquamarine-colored quartz) and the Crocodile (green-colored quartz) are represented. The rings are available in different sizes and are sold for 340 euros.

Kathrine Lindman from fjords to jewels

For once the inspiration to create jewelery does not come from the aspects most used by designers, such as flowers, animals or symbols of the zodiac, but from an inimitable work of nature: the Norwegian fjords. Kathrine Lindman, a Norwegian artist and designer, chose them as the subject for her jewels. Lei founded lei brand lei in 1996 and works on the west coast of Norway. Therefore, you have the fjords right next to home. Before starting her professional career the designer studied at the Jewelery School and the National Academy of Arts in Oslo. But the sea was the real teacher who taught her.

appreciated during New York Fashion Week and New York Jewelery Week, at the Saatchi Gallery in London, at Sofa Chicago and LA Art in Los Angeles. Not only that: her artwork was purchased by collectors and two Norwegian museums. Her silver and enamel pieces present a specific personality: they were also given to Michelle Obama during her 2009 Nobel Peace Prize visit to Oslo.

Pianegonda Assoluto, but in leather

Assoluto was the name of the first Pianegonda collection designed by the new creative director Betony Vernon. But the absolute is always relative to something. In the second collection of the high-end brand of the Bros Manifatture group, silver enters into relationship with leather. The Assoluto jewels, but in leather, manage to combine Pianegonda’s always very refined design with easier wearability, and also to temper the price, making it available to a wider audience. A bracelet from the Assoluto leather line is sold for 360-390 euros.

The bracelets in the collection are characterized, like the others of the Italian brand, by carefully studied geometric shapes, with fluid curves. The quality of the leather appears refined and is available in different colours: black, blue, plum, natural leather, green. The bracelets are available with a single twist or two twists. The first, the single-turn ones, are also distinguished by a silver band inside the leather band.

Marcello Bread literally

Marcello Pane, the ancient Neapolitan tradition in modern key with the Letters collection ♦︎

The ancient tradition of Neapolitan jewelery also goes through the Marcello Pane brand. The company boasts an ancient birth in 1899. Today the company is led by Ettore and Marcello Pane, descendants of the founder of the small house. Meanwhile, it has moved from the crafts to the industrial scale: the jewels of the Marcello Pane collections are made in the goldsmith’s center of Caserta, near Naples. This shift from craft to one with more modern machining means has allowed to reduce costs.

Anello con cuore stilizzato, collezione Essential

The Marcello Pane collections follow two roads: the most traditional one with gold jewelry, and the most affordable price with silver, along with pearls, while the diamonds alternate with the crystals. One of the most popular collections, for example, is one that uses the most alpha alphabet letters in the most classic ways to make names or simply initials. The Essential and Itaca collections use silver with a particular sandblasted finish that enhances the surface of the jewels, with or without gold plating.

Leather and stones for the Pianegonda Assoluto

An absolute success: Pianegonda increases and multiplies the Assoluto collection, the first designed by creative director Betony Vernon. The collection, in silver like the rest of the Maison’s production, which is part of the Bros Manifatture group, is expanded with new jewels. The common thread obviously remains the one underlying the collection, presented a few months ago: the name Assoluto leads to philosophical reflections, but also to particle physics and astronomy.

In short, atoms or planets of space: inspirations that are also present in the new pieces of the collection, which should now include 46 different pieces. The precise lines of silver, softened by curved surfaces, are interspersed with spheres. But Pianegonda adds another novelty: leather elements of different colors, which in some cases offer a hint of post-punk aesthetics. Furthermore, Pianegonda jewels include hard stones such as chalcedony and opal, always mounted on silver.

Amen renews the Croci collection

It is inevitable that the Tuscan brand Amen has had the collection called Croci in its catalog for some time. The company, founded in 2012 by the entrepreneur Giovanni Licastro, was born, as its name indicates, with the idea of offering jewelery for those with a strong spiritual and religious inspiration. On the other hand, it is worth remembering, the word amen is common in many populations: it is found for the first time in the Hebrew Bible, but subsequently also appears in the New Testament. And it is still used in the Jewish, Christian and Muslim religions as a final word or as an answer to a prayer.

The Croci collection, which is one of Amen’s continuing lines, expands for autumn winter 2023 with new sets of chain bracelets and necklaces in silver or gold plated and with the addition of white and black cubic zirconia. In addition to the shape of the cross, the jewels also add small medals with the engraving of the figure of the Madonna. Another medal, however, shows the name of the brand.

Blade, silver jewelery by Giovanni Raspini

It’s true, the idea of wearing a blade can be disconcerting. But if the blade design softens the rigor of the term, it becomes interesting. It is the idea that dominates the Blade collection by Giovanni Raspini. Which, in this case, abandons inspirations linked to nature, such as flowers, fruits or leaves, to choose the path of Nordic rationalism. But softened by the small irregularities that signal artisanal production. Because the jewels are made of hammered silver, with an oval or circular geometry. On the external side there is a blade effect, obviously completely harmless.

The jewels of the Blade collection are made of natural or gilded silver. Each jewel is offered in two versions, larger or thinner. The line is made up of a rigid necklace, three earrings and three bangles. The latter have an opening that allows the wrist to be wrapped impeccably and have been designed to be combined with other bracelets from the Tuscan Maison, with traditional animal print textures or from the rock world.

Giovanni Raspini with Silver Shine

A jewel must shine, be noticed. And this is what the new Shine collection by Giovanni Raspini proposes, one of the novelties for autumn winter 2023-2024. The workmanship of the jewels is that favored by the Tuscan brand, with an alternation of sparkling and blackened silver. But, in addition, the choker necklace, chain with pendant and bracelet with a practical snap closure, as well as the ring and earrings that are part of this line adopt colorless and transparent cubic zirconia set in the metal, to make the jewels more attractive.

The reborn silver of Maria and Luisa

The name has nothing special: Maria e Luisa. The surname, however, is known to jewelry lovers: Pianegonda. The Pianegonda brand, however, due to troubled corporate events, can no longer be used by Maria Luisa Pianegonda and not even by her brother Franco, founder of the Maison specializing in silver jewelry. The Pianegonda brand is now owned by the Bros Manifatture group. But the creativity of the two brothers, who each went down a different path, was not sold. After 16 years as a marketing manager in the original Pianegonda, and after a break marked by travel, Maria Luisa got back on track with a new brand, with a name that curiously doubles her own: Maria and Luisa.

Anello Shri in argento e 8 pietre di rodolite
Shri ring in silver and 8 rhodolite stones

Also for Maria and Luisa the basic material is silver. But it is a super-worked silver, which highlights a craftsmanship of yesteryear. The jewels are worked with a burin, with scrolls, curls, folds, inlays and in some cases with the addition of large semi-precious stones, such as citrine, amethyst, smoky quartz, pink, cognac, and prasiolite, onyx, topaz. Some jewels also have small 9-karat gold inserts. Maria and Luisa’s boutique is located in Milan. Vicenza is long gone.

Pianegonda Conversus in silver and gold

New Latin exam with Pianegonda. The brand of the Bros Manifatture group has long chosen to use words in Latin, or words that closely resemble them, for the collections of the Maison specializing in silver jewellery. A choice that hasn’t changed with the arrival of the artistic director Betony Vernon and which is confirmed with the new Conversus collection. Difficult, however, to convert the word into another language, because in Latin the name conversus can be associated with different meanings, such as swept, turned, but also clean. And perhaps this is the right key: the lines of the jewels are really clean, simple, essential. Rounded surfaces, soft weaves and rounded corners are the characteristics of the jewels in the collection.

Anello in argento
Silver ring

Another specificity of the design consists in the use of silver in two versions: shiny, as in most of the pieces, but also brushed in the case of the ring. Added to this is the introduction of jewels entirely in 9 carat gold, or mixed in silver with an additional element in yellow metal, as in the case of the necklace or earrings.

Millefiori silver with Giovanni Raspini

Millefiori collection by Giovanni Raspini.

Flower necklaces were, arguably, the first jewel-like female accessory in the dawn of humanity. And today’s jewelry often does not deviate too much from that ancient typology, even if the collections of earrings, rings or necklaces are made with noble metals, instead of simple flowers collected in the meadows and intertwined. An example is the Millefiori collection by Giovanni Raspini. Of course, the flowers are the inspiration, while the jewels idealize the concept with the proposal of silver jewels in the usual style of the Tuscan company.

Pendente Millefiori in argento
Millefiori silver pendant

The Millefiori collection is made with tiny flowers that form a texture on circular bases of burnished silver. The surface of the jewels is made more brilliant thanks to a diamond-plating process, a metal working technique that gives a shimmering effect in contrast with the shadows of the burnished base. The Millefiori collection is declined in three necklaces, two bracelets, two rings and three earrings.

Alviero Martini 1st Class in Cape Town

The maps of Alviero Martini 1A Classe, the Milanese brand that became famous for the maps printed on bags and suitcases, presents a new collection of fashion jewelry: Long Street. The jewels are made entirely of 925 silver in the natural or gold-plated version. The metal also houses leather inserts with the Geo Map print that distinguishes the Maison. The choice of name reflects the connection with the geographical theme and continues the series of collections inspired by famous places. Specifically, Long Street is a tourist street in the heart of Cape Town, South Africa, where there are ethnic style shops and bookshops and clubs with an international flair.

All court tennis for Kulto 925

It’s called the Easy Diamond collection but, better to say it right away, don’t expect diamond jewelry. On the other hand, the prices of Kulto 925 bracelets and necklaces are really within reach of the wallet. The brand, which specializes in silver jewellery, uses cubic zirconia crystals for a series of tennis-style bracelets and necklaces. By the way, if you don’t remember why this type of jewel is called that, you can find out here.

In fact, tennis-type jewels have long been one of the brand’s proposals. For example, in addition to the classic tennis, i.e. with white stones, versions with light blue, pink, ruby red, emerald green and blue cubic zirconia are presented (64 euros). Or with combinations of emerald green and white, black and white, blue and white and magenta and white (59).

In Milan in Montenapo with Alviero Martini 1st Class

The journey with Alviero Martini 1A Classe continues. The fashion and accessories brand, which became famous for its bags decorated with maps, has also launched jewelery lines inspired by famous places around the world. This time the place chosen is the same city that saw the birth of the brand. The jewelry line is called Montenapo, short for via Monte Napoleone, the luxury shopping street in the city. The jewels are made of 925 silver and the dominant motif of the jewels is the 1A Classe lettering, with single letters that become a decorative element with a decisive and rigorous style.

Giovanni Raspini in Optical version

According to the official definition, what goes by the name of optical is an abstract art form, where the contrast of colors and geometric shapes serve to produce a three-dimensional visual effect. Or it is made up of surfaces that create unexpected perspectives. The optical style has been widely used in fashion, especially half a century ago, with fabrics characterized by geometric shapes with irregular checks or black and white bands. That same concept of white interspersed with black is now the inspiration for the new Optical collection by Giovanni Raspini.

Collana Optical in argento e onice

The Tuscan silver specialist was inspired by the fashion of the sixties, but with the use of small spheres in hammered silver, interspersed with the black of shiny black onyx stones. The contrast of colors does not cause deceptive perspectives to the eye, but a comfortable regular geometry. The Optical collection is offered in four necklaces and four bracelets in various sizes and lengths.
