Maddalena Rocco’s jewels, often made with the burin technique, are imaginative, surprising, the result of the designer’s studies at the Brera Academy. Now one of her pieces, the Neptunus ring, is the protagonist of this video in which he is portrayed, rightly, as the lord of the waters. The author describes it like this: «Using slow-motion during the filming, at 2,500 frames per second, the movement of the water flow becomes a plastic modeling. Each frame of the wave takes on a purely random shape but rich in aesthetic value, enveloping the shell ring. The sound is nothing other than the reproduction of the sound of the rain stick with a musical crescendo. The coupling of the images of the video with that of the sound of the instrument, also composed of shell fragments, gives the whole an almost hypnotic poetic harmony»
