He is fascinated by the culture of the Maori, the native inhabitants of New Zealand: Marco Ta Moko has chosen to interpret jewelry in a neo-primitive way. A bit (with due proportions) like the cubists of the early twentieth century, who admired African sculptures. He even changed his name (in the Maori language Ta Moko means tattoo) from his original name Marco Dal Maso, descendant of a family of Venetian jewelers. Now Marco Ta Moko is back with the Askari collection. The reference is to Africa: in Arabic the word askari means soldier. Each piece of the maison is unique, like the soul of the warriors it interprets.
