Natasha Calandrino Van Kleef, of Nvk Design, has designed a collection of scented jewels. The collection is called Tracing you and includes scented earrings and jewels in bronze made in collaboration with Monica Castiglioni. And the scent? It emanates from a small ball of colored clay inside. The jewels, in fact, are open, like small copper-red cages and the clay is placed between the braids in the shape of rounded dice or disks.
In the biographical notes of Natasha Calandrino we read that she was born in London in 1966, she graduated in Architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan (with full marks, she specifies), with a major in Technology and Design. She worked on construction sites and in renovation works in the residential, commercial and public places sectors. In short, she was an architect. In 2000 she founded the studio Archimuse & Partners together with Laura Maria Vignati and in 2010 the studio Nvk Architettura & Design, where she currently works. Since 2002 she has been passionate about design and wrote the Slowdesign Manifesto. In addition to jewelry, she designs furniture, some of which, she points out, have received the No Effetto Serra mark for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions according to the Kyoto Protocol.
