Artist’s jewelery in Florence. Book the train now: from 20 June to 20 July Preziosa returns, the 2013 edition of the exhibition dedicated to contemporary research jewellery, curated by Lao\Le Arti Orafe and Maria Cristina Bergesio. The exhibition will be hosted by the Marino Marini museum. The exhibition is divided this year into the sections Un certain regard and Gazes on jewels and places. In the first, six internationally renowned artists (Karin Seufert, Philip Sajet, Suska Mackert, David Bielander, Sophie Hanagarth, Sigurt Bronger) will compare three distinct visions of contemporary jewelery by presenting emblematic objects created to stimulate the collective imagination, arousing mechanisms of recognition or rejection, of surprise or identification. The Gazes on jewels and places project will instead be an exhibition of images created by the Florentine artist Eva Sauer, active between Italy and Germany: 12 jewels worn inside some places of historical and artistic importance in the city of Florence, such as the Garden of Boboli, the Liberty room of the Odeon cinema, the Magliabechiana library of the Uffizi and others. The intent is to relate those who wear these works to everyday life and the surrounding environment.
The event is enriched by the parallel exhibition Preziosa Young, in which the works of eight emerging artists will be presented, selected by Maria Cristina Bergesio from over 200 participants from all over the world, for the uniqueness of their creative research and stylistic expression: Karin Roy Andersson, Wan Hee Cho, Rob Elford, Benedikt Fischer, Panjapol Kulpapangkorn, Chiara Scarpitti, Antje Stolz, Lauren Vanessa Tickle.
