Note that it is a value of affection: between minimum and maximum there are 20 million dollars of difference, an impressive figure. “The great enthusiasm tried last year following the discovery of a blue diamond of 29.62 carats rough at the Cullinan mine in South Africa is completely justified,” glosses David Bennett, chairman of Sotheby’s to the Jewellery Division. “With a weight of 12.03 carats after cut, the Blue Moon is a stunning stone for color purity and form. For me, blue is the most magical and mysterious of all the colors of diamonds and therefore today Blue Moon ranks among the most famous gems in the world”.
