He is half Italian and half Persian. He, Daniel Koren, a third-generation New York jeweler, founded Daniel K in 1999, with the aim of offering high-quality jewelry that could be worn every day. At first he focused on classic bridal collections, for weddings and engagements: wedding rings, necklaces and bracelets all with Asscher diamonds. At the beginning of 2003 Daniel K launched his first pieces outside of the classic shapes: a collection of right-hand rings. In the same year, he launched the Reverso collection, in which each piece can be worn in two different ways. Daniel has received numerous design awards, and in 2005 he received the prestigious title of Designer of the Year from JQ Magazine. At the end of March he will present his new jewelry line at Baselworld, Dani, by Daniel K. It will be a younger line, but still with high-quality stones and settings.
