Good news: this year the companies participating in VicenzaOro Spring are 100 more than last year, i.e. they reach the ceiling of 1,400 participants. A positive sign, especially at a time when little money is circulating, especially in Italy. The fair will take place from 18 to 22 May. There are three key moments: the most important is the awarding of the Andrea Palladio International Jewelery Awards 2013, which will be awarded by a jury led by Gianmaria Buccellati (18 May at 6.30 pm, inside the Bisazza Foundation). Another event is the award ceremony for the winners of Next Jeneration (written with a J), reserved for new jewelery talents (Friday 17 May, at the Basilica Palladiana). The international competition is carried out with the scientific consultancy of the School of Design of the Polytechnic of Milan. Theme: the project of a lucky jewel, a very appropriate theme given the gray times we are going through. The third important event is Trendvision Jewelery + Forecasting, a permanent observatory on jewelery trends, which will have its own space. The trend area will have a theme: Mutations, a sort of visual boutique where the codified materials will be collected on the occasion of the variations of the season. For professionals, there will then be seminars for producers and buyers, scheduled for Saturday 18th and Monday 20th at the Fair. They are designed by Paola De Luca, creative director and forecaster of Trendevision Jewelery+Forecasting.
