Selling jewels to rich Arab sheikhs. It is the dream of (almost) all jewelery manufacturers. And it is a goal that, sometimes, comes true and not only because in the catalog there are products that meet the tastes of the emirs: you also need to know the local market, with its problems and its opportunities. It is therefore essential to find a trusted person who is on site. And this is the story of Daniela Ufken, who worked for years with the Pasquale Bruni brand. The story of this manager who resembles (at least in photos) a character who wouldn’t be out of place in a James Bond film, begins when she was 18 years old. She and she is so singular that she was the subject of a long interview with the United Arab Emirates newspaper “The Nation”.
She tells the newspaper that on her first visit to Dubai, in 2000, for the opening of a Pasquale Bruni jewelry store in the United Arab Emirates, Daniela Ufken felt like she was in an Arabian Nights atmosphere. In 2006 you therefore decided to settle in Dubai.
On the other hand, Daniela Ufken is a precocious type: she is of German origins, at 14 she founded a babysitting company on request, through the call center of a taxi company in Assen, Holland. At the age of 18 she moved to Italy, where she started working at Pasquale Bruni. For a short time she also lived in Switzerland to open a branch of the jewelry company. However, in 2004 she resigned to continue for a couple of years as a consultant for Pasquale Bruni and some other brands such as Utopia, Calgaro and Scintilla Monaco. Also in 2004 you opened a center for the distribution of watches and jewelery in Dubai: you are now managing partner of Precious Jewels. And her career isn’t over: she’s now about to dive into the loose diamond and gemstone business.
