The numbers to eight digits achieved in jewelry auctions are no longer an exception: «A decade ago, you’d only hear these numbers in pictures sales; a Picasso sold for $10 million, a Van Gogh for $20 million», says Rahul Kadakia, international director of Christie’s jewelry department, in an interview with the American magazine Robb Report. The expert of the London-based company entered the orbit of the multinational luxury Kering, describes it as an moving and booming phenomenon . And the results of the auctions last year confirm this: the Blue Belle of Asia sapphire, a 392 carat stone, was sold in Geneva for 17 million 500 thousand dollars, a record; the Belle Époque brooch by Cartier made 17 million 900 thousand US dollars. And, again, a ruby necklace at auction in Hong Kong for 13 million dollars. Here the interview.

If you are in Europe, let’s go on a plane and come with us to look at the jewelry of a high-class brand: Brumani. Unfortunately his pieces not found in Italy, France or Switzerland. In Europe we have to go to London to buy one, or in Moscow. Italians, however, can go to Malta, an island to 20 minutes by flight from Sicily. The ones we have are pictures of the jewels presented this spring. Brazil is multicultural, with a history that brought together many different peoples. And this melting pot is reflected in the style, high-level, of Brumani: European sophistication, tropical colors, fancy Latin. A mix that has won a large number of stars like Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Penelope Cruz, Selena Gomes, Viola Davis, Paris Hilton, Emily Blunt, Jennifer Lawrence, Paris Hilton, Emily Blunt, Jennifer Lawrence and Queen Latifah. In Vicenza, jewelry on the table

Federico Graglia

The flash-tattoo jewel it’s coming back

Metallic tattoos that mimic and replace the real jewels and disappear after a few days: existed by long, but apparently could be the trend of summer 2015. The new interest in this type of tattoo, which lasts about a week before dissolving, comes from Brazil, where it seems that fashion is catching on the beaches of Copacabana and Florianopolis. The tattoo flash was revalued after Rihanna and Beyoncé they appeared with the body decorated. The models on the market of these decals of bracelet or necklace tattooed, you can remove with acetone, alcohol or olive oil or a moisturizer, and then with wet wipes. Another advantage is that the jewels tattooed are cheap (around 10 euro per pack). The designs are inspired by real jewelry (bracelets, necklaces, rings, suspenders, Indian motifs, African, Egyptian and geometric), last on average 3-5 days. You have to apply it on the skin free of creams and spotless. Then, you just put in contact adhesive film on the skin dried. Finally, it gets wet the tattoo with a sponge or damp cloth, pressing until the decal is released to the skin (about 30 seconds). To better highlight the design is slightly wet the tattoo with water. (Italiano) Boom in Cina per i gioielli online

Is booming in jewelry and diamonds sold online. Especially in China, at least as revealed by cross of several studies, the results of which could partially change the widespread opinion that this market is too risky and daunting. The first sign of optimism comes from China Luxury Forecast, the annual publication on the key trends in the luxury market, which notes that 57 percent of Chinese consumers have developed greater confidence in online luxury shopping over the past 12 months compared with the previous year. The reason is partly due to the high rate of dissatisfaction (63%) with retail experience Hong Kong, a very popular destination among luxory shoppers, and in part to the ability to search and find on line brands not available in the country. Not only, consulting firm Bain & Company, estimates that online sells in China will grow by 25% per year, three times more than overall retail. Then there are eBay’s marketing managers, who believe that the average selling price of jewelry and diamond still has room to grow and that the e-commerce of luxury goods is a global trend, with jewelry and watches among the top three categories with the fastest growth. Finally, according to Fortune Character Institute, the Middle Kingdom represents nearly half of global luxury sales. In short it is not unrealistic to assume that China’s e-commerce can be transformed into a golden opportunity. Federico Graglia
AS29, the diamonds according Audrey Savransky
Published on
The homeland of the diamonds is Belgium and is also the home of Audrey Savransky, the designer who created the brand AS29 and represents the fourth generation of the business of the favorite gems of the world.
But the most surprising aspect (the Belgians do not be offended) is that Audrey is also equipped with a good deal of sense of humor, qualities that in the austere streets of Antwerp, among carvers and diamond merchants, is rarer than a stone 100 carats. Audrey is funny because it presents her jewelry as remedies to sadness, like a medicine that can heal any woman and, at the same time, as it be a good ice cream. So much so that the jewels are presented as happy pills, in a pink box full “of instructions for dosage and mode of administration. Contraindications include the possibility of visual impairment due to acute brilliance and the onset of jealousy for those who do not own them.”
Well, jewelry and ironic sense are not an ordinary bread. To this we can add that the jewelry designed by Audrey Savransky are very modern, very portable and, of course, with many diamonds, but also with other stones as sapphires, amethysts and rubies. Rings, earrings and necklaces are shaped like hearts, arrows, flowers, with a modern design, linear. Prices vary widely, but on average it fluctuates from one thousand to 12 thousand euro, just to give a dimension. The jewelry of As29 are for sale in differente place of the world: in France from Colette, Montaigne Market, Bon Marché, Printemps; in Britain from Harvey Nichols, Harrods, Fenwick, Liberty; Brown Thomas in Ireland, Switzerland from Bongénie. And then in Mexico City, Saks 5th Avenue, in the US by Hirshleifer’s and Hong Kong, from Plukka. But you also buy the jewels online. Giulia Netrese

People 24-35 buy more jewelry
Published on
Young people between 24 and 35 years old, so-called “millennials,” spend more than others for jewelry. More precisely, in 2014 they bought jewelry for 28% more than the average. It is the conclusion of Edahn Golan, mega industry consultant and owner of Diamond Research & Data, a company specializing in the analysis of the jewelry industry and predict trends. But, in general, the jewelry is loved by young people: consumers under 25, for example, have increased their spending on jewelry of 100% between 2003 and 2013. This is also why the United States, in particular, jewelry sales last year increased by 1.4%. The US remains the largest market in the world for jewelry, with sales of $ 68.8 billion in 2014: the average expenditure was $ 434 per family. And if you also include the clocks, the average goes up to $ 612. Beware, though: Golan warns that consumers buy more, but spend less. Translated: they buy more jewelry, but spend less per piece. Another news: the people purchases jewels throughout the year, not just during the Christmas season. Indeed, in 2014, the sell in stores before 25 December fell by 1.2 per cent. If you know English and you are curious to know in detail the market trends seen by the guru Edahn Golan can download the entire report here. Federico Graglia
Fewer people sell jewelry
Published on
There’s less people going to sell their jewelry. A sign that the global economy is getting better is precisely the decrease of gold from recycled jewelery, bars, coins and products industry, which dropped to 1,122 tons. According to the World Gold Council, the industry association of the leading gold mining, the volume has never been so low since 2007. Basically, the report published in collaboration with the Boston Consulting Group says that it has came back to pre-crisis levels . The reason? The turnover of the main source of precious metal second hand, that is jewelry, decreased because people no longer sells for cash. Analysts say that economic shocks may increase by 20% of the activities of so-called buy gold and similar, it happened during the Asian crisis in the late 1990s and there was a 25% increase during the last crisis in 2008 -2009. A lucrative trade that, however, now seems on the decline, at least in the US, with some sensational cases such as Cash4Gold.com. The site specialized in buy gold in 2009 had a turnover that could afford to pay $ 3 million for its commercials during the Super Bowl, but after just three years has failed. Perhaps the fault is not only due to a drastic drop in customers, but this company has declared bankruptcy and has changed hands. The devaluation of gold has had its relevance: the experts have shown a correlation between the decline in metal prices and and the activities of buy gold. For example, in 1999, when an ounce (a little more than 28 grams) of yellow metal was worth $ 250 provenance was distributed as follows: 73% mineral production and 17% recycling. Ten years after the value has exceeded for the first time the $ 1,000, the second rate has risen to 42%, a record since it stood at 26%. Of course, in countries like China and India which represent 60% of world demand is a sector yet to be developed, but in the West, things are changing. Federico Graglia
Liu Jo in Basel with Glamour

Liu Jo Luxury Jewels Collection: at Baselworld, Nardelli Luxury it shows new watches and a collection of jewelry in between glamor and luxury. A little ‘as is the philosophy of the brand that has established itself in the fashion world. So not surprisingly, the collection is called Glamour: the theme is the logo of Liu Jo, recognizable in every piece. The jewels are available in three variants: gold, silver, and gold rose. The collection consists of four lines: Trama (weaving), as its name indicates, is made with the technique of small drillings. In this case the style adopts the circular shape, combined with the classic heart, with logo in crystals. The heart, but with a padlock (and with the key to open it), is at the center line of the Destini, who uses brilliant details for the initials of the logo and a hammered surface. The line Dolceamara, however, relies on a mix of chains with different geometries and volumes, alternating with touches of light: in this case the logo Liu Jo is discreet, place on micro hearts pendants and closures. Finally, the shining star in Hollywood style, to symbolize the power of women, is located in the jewels of the collection Illumina.
Alongside the jewelry, the brand presents new collections of watches. The brand extension was born from the partnership between Liu Jo and Nardelli Luxury, in 2006, thus increasing its offer. A special note concerns precisely the company led by Ceo and Creative Director Bruno Nardelli, who has seen the entrance of the former general manager of Fossil, Stefano Abbati (https://gioiellis.com/abbati-lascia -fossil-for-nardelli), which acquired the role of vice president with responsibility for internationalization and trade. The brand extension, in any case, it works: in eight years has sold 3 million of watches and jewelry. In Italy, the brand is present in more than 1,600 retail outlets. “Our presence at Baselworld is part of a structured internationalization strategy that sees the brand collect more interest in the major markets in the wake of the success of the first in Italy and now abroad by Liu Jo,” is the comment of Bruno Nardelli. The Dori Csengeri Aventure

A mix of light pop, light pastels and neutral colors for the five new lines by Dori Csengeri. Who, while remaining faithful to to her style, uses less abstract shapes and materials such as transparent plastic, unusual for the Israeli designer: for example, the flowers that characterize the line Aventure, are very defined with four multicolored petals made of faceted stones red, turquoise , green and beige, while the leaves drop shaped, the typical decorative motif known as Indian paisley, look like a cute bunny ears. With Capri instead, there is a realistic representation of the daisy in white and orange enamel with a green trimming stem, and so more than sea you will think of a garden. Turquoise is the stone craft of Native American and Mexicans, and it is central in Desert Chic along with greenish yellow braided ropes and mottled sand colored stones. Psychedelic, not surprisingly was named Delirio, the line made of 70’s pop flowers . An alternation of tones and undertones culminating in shades of dark blue for Downtown.
