The sensual knots of Fawaz Gruosi

/

The knot unites, ties and, if it is a jewel, it is a symbol of love. As long as it is a special knot and, above all, that it is a pride to wear. Fawaz Gruosi, the great Italian-Lebanese jeweler, who founded his house in London with work in Geneva, proposes the theme of the knot in his personal interpretation. The Enlanced collection plays with intertwined gold, diamonds and ceramics. The jewels are made of white or rose gold with the typical enveloping style of Fawaz Gruosi. The oval shapes combine in different ways, from earrings to rings to pendants, but the design is always based on two elements. In the ring, for example, an oval wraps around the finger and curves around the skin. The second, although intertwined within the structure, is completely untied.

A game that is also a demonstration of goldsmith’s skill, as well as a refined example of design. Even in the hoop earring the design has the jeweler’s signature, with two ovals that fit together: the first on the front of the ear, the second starts in front before wrapping itself behind. The ceramic is presented in three variants: ivory, black and turquoise. But there are also jewels in semi or full diamond pavé versions. Diamonds, in particular, are generously sized for a pave, but are placed tightly together to leave as little metal as possible between them.

The precious, delicate ribbons of Fawaz Gruosi

//

Soft shapes, lightness, sensuality: characteristics that can be referred to a woman and at the same time to the Ribbon collection designed by Fawaz Gruosi. The Maison founded by one of the most creative veterans of high jewelery, now based in London and a laboratory in Geneva, presents a collection that brings together aesthetics and goldsmith virtuosity.

Inspiration comes anywhere, anytime. Usually, when I least expect it. I was in a restaurant and was fascinated by the elegance of a ribbon that enchantingly wrapped my napkin. I immediately thought of a jewel.

The central theme of the Ribbon collection translates into jewels with the delicately curved ends of a ribbon meeting, while one end sinuously surmounts the other. The collection includes two earrings and five rings that all play on this motif, with a mix of gold and precious stones. As in the case of the earrings, with one end that hugs the ear and the other that touches the cheek: they are available in white or pink gold, with 190 brilliant-cut white diamonds grouped on the edges and sprinkled here and there on the folds of the ribbon to accentuate the contours of the shape. The clips are engraved with the House’s signature, the initial F on the earring for the right lobe and the letter G for the left one.

The rings are available in white and rose gold and studded with diamonds, emeralds and rubies in a variety of combinations. Two rings are made of white gold or rose gold with diamonds set on the edges and sprinkled on the folds. Two other variants feature a diamond pavé, with the edges studded with 153 brilliant-cut white diamonds, which gradually blend along the curves with 279 brilliant-cut rubies or 279 brilliant-cut emeralds.

Chains with Fantasy for Fawaz Gruosi

///

If there is one thing that Fawaz Gruosi does not lack, it is fantasy. In his new Maison, created in his image and likeness, the jeweler unleashes his proven experience, together with the usual gift of creativity. The Fantasy line was born on this basis, a collection inspired by the eternal shape of the chain. It takes imagination, in fact, to propose chains that are different from those commonly found on the market, but also from those that offer other brands devoted to design. Mission accomplished.

Two sautoirs feature flat, elongated and organically shaped oval rings in pink, gold and ivory ceramic, or white, gold and black ceramic. For some models, diamonds are added, with smaller tonneau-shaped links, that is, more rounded. The gems are arranged in an apparently random way, but in reality with a perfect balance. The jewelry clasp was specially developed in Fawaz Gruosi’s atelier in Geneva so that it can be seamlessly integrated into the design.

The collection also includes bracelets, with the same style and the same materials: they are available in pink gold and ivory ceramic, or in white gold and black ceramic, with each link made unique by the original par hazard diamond setting. Fantasy earrings are composed of a sequence of rings in pink or white gold joined by small tonneau-shaped links, ending with a drop of ivory or black ceramic. Each earring is individually signed with a letter F on the back, which also indicates that the earring must be worn on the right lobe, while the letter G indicates the left. Finally, there is no shortage of rings in the Fantasy collection. In this case the chain has rounded links to follow the shape of the finger and adapt better.

Often it is the smallest jewels that pose the greatest challenges, and this ring is one example. It is not easy to mix ceramic and gold, but once again my skilled goldsmiths have given body to my Fantasy.

High jewelry by Fawaz Gruosi for Naomi Campbell

Eternal Naomi Campbell. The longest-running and most celebrated model in the world is now also a face for Fawaz Gruosi‘s fine jewelry. The jeweler, also with a long professional history behind him, two years ago inaugurated a new life with a brand that has his name and opened a boutique in London, in Mayfair. Not only that: Fawaz Gruosi has always accompanied the launch of her jewels with the participation of actresses and models.

The present is no exception: Naomi Campbell attended the Bafta 2022 awards ceremony with matching bracelet and earrings in white gold with emeralds, diamonds and onyx. They are unique pieces: the earrings, for example, are made of 18-karat white gold with 288 brilliant-cut white diamonds, 260 brilliant-cut emeralds and 10 crescent-shaped onyxes. In addition, to present the award for best photograph with Rupaul, the model also wore the Silhouette ring in white gold with white diamonds.

Fawaz Gruosi with Mônot presents Enlanced and Colorissima

/

Fawaz Gruosi takes the catwalk. Or rather, not really him, but his jewels. The designer, who after having founded de Grisogono now works with his brand, has landed at Paris Fashion Week to collaborate with a fashion designer and, at the same time, present the new Enlaced and Silhouette collections. The fashion brand is Mônot, launched in 2019 by Lebanese designer Eli Mizrahi. The fantasy and refined compositional technique of Fawaz Gruosi enhanced Mônot’s dresses for the autumn-winter 2023 season, which include a little black dress and a three-piece dress. But we are interested in jewels: on this occasion you will find images relating to the Parisian event, in the next few days we will talk about the two collections individually.

Model Isabeli Fontana wore a bracelet from the Colorissima collection and Floris earrings. Charlbi Dean is wearing the elegant Fantasy earrings. For Jessica Aïdi Verratti the earrings of the Colorissima line, as well as for Olivia Frances Culpo, while Addison Rae was given the Enlanced ring.

In summary, the Enlanced collection is inspired by the ancient symbol of the love knot that resonates across so many cultures and includes a set of eight rings. The Fantasy line combines a dose of abstraction with the tradition of oversized 1960s chains, for a jewelry collection that defies all categorization, with elongated oval-shaped organic rings of dissimilar dimensions and contours, slightly triangular, in ceramic and gold. The Colorissima collection conveys feelings of freedom and celebration (which Fawaz Gruosi knows well) and, of course, focuses on color, with spectacular gems.

Highest fantasy and high jewelry: Fawaz Gruosi is come back

/

Years go by but Fawaz Gruosi’s talent is fresh as a rose. The jeweler is one of the few capable not only of creating extraordinary pieces, but also of introducing trends that are then accepted (some would say copied) by the rest of the world. Many years ago were black diamonds, provided by Fawaz Gruosi with a passport to enter the world of high jewelry. Filed away the years with the unfortunate Maison de Grisogono, stumbled upon corporate problems far from the world of jewelry, Fawaz Gruosi has restarted with a brand that this time has his name and a boutique in Berkeley Square, London, while the creation of the jewels takes place in Geneva. And he did well, as he is well known in the world of high jewelery enthusiasts.

During the Parisian haute couture week, Gruosi presented new exceptional jewels. The style is the same as always: sinuous, surprising, innovative shapes without being bizarre. And, above all, with many great gems enhanced by the design. Like the ring with a square-cut Colombian emerald of over 15 carats, surrounded by rubies and other navette-cut emeralds. Or a pair of earrings in 18-karat rose gold and titanium, with two Colombian emerald-cut emeralds, 408 brilliant-cut emeralds, 106 brilliant-cut white diamonds and ivory-colored ceramic: a jewel that has no comparison. The style of the earrings is also reflected in a “lava setting” necklace with the sinuous trend of a snake of diamonds intertwined with a second snake of emeralds, surmounted by a quintet of emeralds: there are 44 Zambian emeralds for a total of 87, 65 carat. There is no shortage of pieces composed solely of diamonds, such as the 18-karat white gold ring with 62 baguette-cut and 673 brilliant-cut white diamonds.

But, as mentioned at the beginning, the jeweler also loves to surprise. This time Grwuosi introduces amber to high jewelery. A precious material, and well known, but not usually used in this type of jewelry. Instead, here is a ring and bracelet with Baltic amber of the best quality chiseled in cabochon and drops, with gold motifs set with diamonds. Above, a 9.75-carat Ceylon sapphire, pear-cut diamonds. It’s safe to bet that amber will also be rediscovered by other Maisons.

For lovers of colored gemstones, there is only the embarrassment of choice. A bracelet combines two blue sapphires for a total of 121.62 carats, with 153.10 carats of pink sapphires contrasted with baguette-cut emeralds. Or a ring with an ellipse made up of baguette-cut sapphires and spiral emeralds. Not only that: the ring is topped with a 27.33-carat Ceylon sapphire. If, on the other hand, you love the color red, here is a bracelet composed of waves of baguette and brilliant cut Burmese rubies, which can be combined with a ring made with the same stones. Another ring, on the other hand, is made up of a pink opal sprinkled with marquise-cut diamonds and thirty-one cabochon emeralds: the effect is sure.

The most astonishing jewel of the collection, however, is a spectacular necklace made up of eight rows of emeralds and diamonds. It has a flavor reminiscent of the India of the maharajas or, better, of the maharanis (the queens). The jewel is composed of emeralds for 115.55 carats with cabochon cut interspersed with brilliant cut diamonds. Pure art.

The return of Fawaz Gruosi

/

He was the creative director, and above all the founder, of one of the most dazzling Maison of high jewelery: de Grisogono. But at the end of 2018, somewhat surprising all, Fawaz Gruosi had left the ginervrina company. It was then understood why: the owners, the Angolese citizens Sindika Dokolo and Isabel dos Santos, daughter of the former Angolan president, had messed with the accounts. To put it mildly. After that chapter, Fawaz Gruosi is back on track with a Maison that has his name, this time in London, in Berkeley Square. The years have passed, but not the creative flair of the jeweler. The pieces of high jewelery proposed are of an exceptional fantasy and quality. Impossible not to notice the unmistakable style of Fawaz Gruosi, who in her previous professional life was able to combine super luxury with a spectacular use of materials. Starting with black diamonds, which Fawaz Gruosi was the first to use in high jewelery.

Fawaz Gruosi
Fawaz Gruosi

The fame of the jeweler, however, is also linked to his sociability, to his famous parties among models, actresses and showgirls, to the collections presented during the Cannes Film Festival. Will he now replicate the rise to success with the new brand? It is too early to tell. In any case, the jeweler is used to being reborn. He was born in Florence to an Italian mother and for this reason he also knows the Italian language. He started working early: at 16 he was in the Florentine Torrini jewelry, more to help his family after the premature death of his Lebanese father than out of passion. But that experience taught him the secrets of the trade. He began his rise in Saudi Arabia with Harry Winston, then worked for Gianni Bulgari before founding de Grisogono in 1993. Now he starts (almost) from scratch.

Fawaz Gruosi says goodbye to de Grisogono

Farewell by Fawaz Gruosi at the board of de Grisogono, the Geneva Maison he founded 25 years ago ♦ ︎

That the changes were in the air was clear. First of all, the announcement of the downsizing of high-jewelery workers, which any case remains a strong point of the Maison. Then, the decision to defect Baselworld. Finally, the recent appointment of Céline Assimon, who became de Grisogono’s chief executive officer, in the position previously occupied by John Leitao. In short, many news in a few months. But the real bomb was a surprise (maybe) for everybody: the farewell of the founder of the Geneva Maison, Fawaz Gruosi.
The announcement came along with the clarification that the farewell of the effervescent jeweler brings the date of December 31st. In the official communiqué, the impact of the news is obviously dampened, with the addition that the decision has been made time ago and that the farewell was going on. But the surprise remains.

Fawaz Gruosi
Fawaz Gruosi

As the founder of this inspirational brand 25 years ago, we are grateful to Fawaz Grusoi for his incredible passion and creativity. For all this time de Grisogono has gone through a fantastic journey, moving from a high-end niche jewelry house to a high-end jewelry player that is now recognized all over the world. In line with our board’s vision and program, de Grisogono is now preparing to enter a new chapter in its history. Under the guidance of Céline Assimon and the talented company team, the design and the atelier will continue to carry out design and craftsmanship as it has been up to now, through a collective process, keeping the tradition made of bold creativity for which the brand is known .

Certainly the farewell of Fawaz Gruosi will not be painless for the brand, known for its ability to innovate (for example, has anticipated everybody with the use of black diamonds), but also for inspiration, the desire to live and a image linked to the Dolce Vita of our days. Memorable were the parties organized by Gruosi in Cannes or in Sardinia, Costa Smeralda. Models, show stars, artists: all attracted by events in a whirling mix as the design of some surprising Maison jewels. But the curtain sooner or later falls for everyone.

The thousand nuances of de Grisogono

The thousand shades of Melody of Colors high jewelery by de Grisogono ♦ ︎

In 2017 the melody played by Fawaz Gruosi was above all white or, better, with the crystal transparency of the diamonds. In 2018 the sweet sound of high jewelery is, instead, a symphony of colors. Those of the great precious and colored stones. Melody of Colors includes, however, not only creations rich in gems, but also with the exuberant fantasy typical of the Maison, which sometimes favors some unsettling combinations or irreverent forms.

Orecchini con tuchesi a goccia e smeraldi
Orecchini con tuchesi a goccia e smeraldi

The style of Melody of Colors involves the use of finely perforated gold and engraved with the iconic volutes de Grisogono.

The use of black rhodium-plated gold is another of the characteristics, which can enhance the brilliance of the stones, while the metal tunnel lightens the weight of the jewel. Another innovation of de Grisogono is the innovative technique of setting, for example to make the best briolette cuts, to join together the gems with an invisible thread, hiding the underlying material.

The jewels of Melody of Colors include an original mix of sizes, cuts, colors and types of stones, amazing carats.

From the brightness of the pavé to the sinuous movement of the briolette cuts, from the cabochon to the central stones, Melody of Colors offers daring and original combinations, which include exuberant cocktail rings, sumptuous necklaces, earrings and enchanting bracelets.

Vip party with de Grisogono’s jewels

A big party on the occasion of the Cannes Film Festival to celebrate the first 25 years of the Maison de Grisogono. That’s who there was ♦ ︎
High jewelry and celebrity, a marriage that does not know divorce. So it is, every year at the Cannes Film Festival and this year was no exception. Here then is a series of models and actresses jeweled by the Maison ginevrina de Grisogono, which celebrated its 25th anniversary with a great party.
A quarter of a century, in fact, is an important date. And in Villa des Oliviers, in Antibes, the landlord Fawaz Gruosi welcomed 300 guests for a dinner-show. Among the celebrities present, Alessandra Ambrosio, Nicole Scherzinger, Winnie Harlow, Maria Borges, Cindy Bruna, Michelle Rodriguez, Natasha Poly, Toni Garrn, Chris Tucker, Mette Towley. «I come from a family that celebrates life every day, in intense, sad or happy moments, it is a way to avert fate and welcome destiny with positivity. To surround ourselves with important people, who count and trust us for years is another way to celebrate the path we have made in these 25 years and to write the sequel of our history under the best auspices “, commented the Swiss jeweler’s. Angola say goodbye to de Grisogono

/

The decisions of the government of Angola intersect with the fate of the Maison de Grisogono ♦ ︎
The jewels are precious. They are an investment as well as an object to wear. So it is not surprising if, occasionally, the economic aspect dominates the aesthetic: in short, sometimes the vile money shines more than a diamond.
This is the case, for example, of the story told by the Bloomberg agency and which concerns the Geneva Maison de Grisogono. It is learned, in fact, that the minority shareholder of the company founded by Fawaz Gruosi is the government of Angola, and in particular Sodiam, a subsidiary of Endiama, the national mining company of the African country. Sodiam, therefore, has announced that it will sell its shareholding in de Grisogono. The decision has nothing to do with de Grisogono’s activity, but is dictated by “reasons of public interest and legality”. According to the American specialized website National Jeweler, de Grisogono is controlled by Sindika Dokolo, husband of Isabel Dos Santos, who is the daughter of former Angolan president Jose Eduardo dos Santos as well as being the richest woman in Africa, according to Forbes magazine.
Change of regime
In short, the newly elected Angolan president Joao Lourenco would like cut Angola from the commercial interests of his predecessor’s family. In fact, it has already removed Isabel Dos Santo from the summit of Sonangol, which is the powerful state oil company of Angola. The story was commented on National Jeweler by de Grisogono’s marketing director, Gianluca Maina, who sent a clarification via e-mail: «After a recent change of leadership, Sodiam, minority shareholder, announced plans to exit as investor in De Grisogono. This decision will have no impact on our majority shareholders who have reconfirmed their continued commitment to our brand and its future and we continue to have strong financial support “.
Public enemy
But the serenity of Fawaz Gruosi risks being disturbed by another obstacle: the negative campaign that leads the gem hunter Yianni Melas from some months. In essence, the explorer claims that de Grisogono does not sufficiently help African populations and for this reason he has implemented a series of protest actions against the Maison de Genève. For exemple, on the occasion of Christie’s auction sale of The Art of de Grisogono, an exceptional necklace with a 163.41 carat D diamond, extracted in Angola. Not even the announcement that 1% of the sale would be donated to Fundação Brilhante, an organization that promotes social change in the areas surrounding the mines in Angola, has been enough to appease Melas. Jewelry on paper for de Grisogono

The story (seen through 160 illustrations) of the Maison de Grisogono and its founder, Fawaz Gruosi ♦ ︎
“No great man lives in vain: the history of the world is just the biography of great men,” said Thomas Carlyle, a Scottish historian, essayist and philosopher who lived in the Victorian period. This principle also applies to the jewelery world. And so, here is Daring Creativity, a book written by specialist Vivienne Becker and devoted to the creator of de Grisogono, Fawaz Gruosi. A widely illustrated story that will fascinate the fans of the Maison of Geneva, attracted by the sometimes scratching fantasy of its founder.
“When it comes to exceptional stones, the secret is to identify the one that will transmit emotions, the one made for you, as if it were an extension of your being. When I create, I already know which woman will wear the jewel and how the stone will become her talisman, “Gruosi tells Vivienne Becker. Gruosi, one of the few visionary spirits in a world often too loyal to tradition, created his brand in 1993 with the first boutique in Rue du Rhône in Geneva. He immediately found his space and, above all, a soul: he has lost the characteristic minimalism of the last decade of the twentieth century and has opted for opulent, sensual, complex creations.
Grisogono’s first creation, a pair of pearls and diamond earrings tailored to begum Salima Aga Khan was already a perfect image of the taste, reachness and originality that would become the jeweler’s trademark. Characters such as Sofia Loren, Duchess Camila of Cornwall, Sharon Stone have worn the glittering models of the Maison. Since then, Gruosi continues to explore the white and black diamonds as well as unique-colored stones, inventing both classical and innovative shapes.
The volume images show the wide range of ideas, technical solutions, innovations of the Maison. With an Italian background, Gruosi manages to blend Florentine and Byzantine influences, combinations of precious stones and craftsmanship.

At Christie’s a de Grisogono masterpiece

An exceptional necklace with one of the greatest diamonds in the world: Christie’s sells de Grisogono’s masterpiece ♦ ︎
An international stage for an exceptional jewel. The appointment by Christie’s on November 14, in Geneva, is particularly interesting for high-end jewelers. And also for those who will be able to buys a piece that will make history: The Art of de Grisogono, Creation I, named after a unique necklace, which fits a 163.41 carat, D flawless and type diamond IIA.
A stone record
The extraordinary stone used and the composition of the jewel is a record. Not surprisingly, he was the founder and creative director of de Grisogono, Fawaz Gruosi, to drive all the work from the original rough diamond cutting of 404.20-carat “monster” to the completion of the necklace. The perfect white diamond is not only the largest in its category ever auctioned and the most precious stone that Maison has ever worked on, but is also representative of de Grisogono’s revolution, now close to the 25th birthday.
The story starts from Lulo
The big diamond has a date of birth: it was extracted on February 4, 2016, in the Lulo mine in East Angola. It was named 4 de Fevereiro, which is also the day Angola has begun the long way towards independence from Portugal. The diamond is the 27th in the ranking of the largest ever extracts, and the first one for size never found in Angola. To buy it was de Grisogono, thanks to the collaboration with the Nemesis International diamond trading company. The American Gemmological Institute in New York declared the rough stone a type IIA diamond and color D, that is to the top. From the rough diamond the cut stone of 163.41 carats, D color, was obtained, with the characteristic of Flawless purity. This is also a record.

The working phase
The diamond has remained 11 months to be analyzed and mapped to clamp, laser cut and finally polishing. The almost rectangular shape of the diamond led the cutter to opt for an emerald cut, performed on June 29, 2016 using the jewelery tradition instruments. The first cut was hand-made in New York in the presence of Fawaz Gruosi and his team, probably with some anxiety.
In December 2016, the 163.41-carat diamond left New York to reach de Grisogono’s headquarters in Geneva. On the table there are 50 design proposals. After two months to win is the design of an asymmetrical necklace with 163.41 carat diamonds in the center, emphasized by rectangular cut diamonds and emeralds. “I chose the emerald because I adore the green color and I love joining it with other stones. Green gives a fascinating contrast and enhances both colors. And then, good Italian, I’m superstitious. Green is a lucky color: you will often see it in my collections, “commented Fawaz Gruosi.
The transformation into jewelery
It took six months for the necklace, with a team of 14 craftsmen, including eight jewelers, five decorators and an engraver. All in all, 1700 hours in the ateliers of de Grisogono High Jewelry to manually work each stone of the necklace.
And here’s the necklace: a round neck with soft curves is characterized by two forms filled with gems that touch the neck. On the one hand, the 18 emerald diamond scales (ranging from 0.48 to 8.10 carats for a total of 48.64 carats) blend with bright green emeralds on the other side of the necklace. Each of the diamond bases is connected to the next on the bottom, imperceptibly, giving a great flexibility to the chain. The gold bases of each diamond are decorated with 862 diamonds brilliant cut, for a total weight of 6.52 carats, further enhanced by small emeralds embedded on the surface of each gold part. A total of 5949 emeralds have been embellished on the necklace, brilliantly cut from the weight of 38.84 carats.
On the other side of the necklace there is a white gold spiral embedded in emeralds and emerald cut diamonds tapering to the glacial charm of the diamond of 163.41 carats. In addition, 66 drops of emerald pear cut (from 120.42 carats weight) caress the skin and take on vibrating vibration read at every movement. To enhance the contrast between diamond white and emerald green, every visible gold component was plated in black rhodium, creating a chiaroscuro effect.

The base containing the 163.41 carat diamond is adorned with 399 diamonds brilliant cut, while the labels disappear under four baguette cut diamonds for a bright shiny effect. On the back of the base is engraved: 163.4 D Flawless. As if it were not enough, under the clip is concealed a 0.54-carat emerald, and the back of the necklace features refined finishes with the characteristic motif of the Maison.
The Future of Creation I
The diamond can be detached thanks to a complex mechanism developed specifically to allow easy removal of stone and ensure maximum safety. When the necklace has a legitimate owner, the Maison de Grisogono will propose to work in close contact to create other designs, for example a bracelet, a tiara or a brooch that can accommodate this unique diamond.
The Art of de Grisogono and Christie’s
With a diamond of this relief, it is a must for sale that is fairly. Having dealt with diamonds of greatest value in the world, de Grisogono and Christie’s have concluded an agreement for the sale of The Art of de Grisogono collections. Creation I will be the protagonist of the auction season in the evening sale of November 14th.
“Throughout its 251 years of activity, Christie’s had the privilege of treating the world’s most valuable and valuable diamonds. This perfect and sensational 163.41 carat diamond, suspended on an elegant emerald and diamond necklace, makes de Grisogono a Maison of rare excellence” commented Rahul Kadakia, international director of Christie’s Jewelery. The precious melody by de Grisogono

De Grisogono’s high jewelery in two exceptional diamond-based collections ♦ ︎
Who knows if the diamonds can playing or singing music? Who knows if music can also be seen, more as well as listened? Certainly the gift of a diamond jewelery sounds like celestial music for those who receive it. Fawaz Gruosi, founder and creative director of de Grisogno, a refined Maison of Geneva, must also be convinced: “It is the Earth’s history, power and vibrant power, it is emotion, authenticity and splendor. It’s charming, charming and legendary. It is the most precious and rarer stone. It’s a timeless mineral beauty. It’s a diamond. ” An elegia that translates into two collections: one is called the Melody of Diamonds, launched in 2012 and is now reproposed, while the other is named The World of Diamonds.
One knows, among other things, that Gruosi loves collecting exceptional stones: in September 2016 he bought a large rough diamond, baptized with the name of The Constellation, with a diameter of over six inches and a weight of 813 carats. A year earlier he flew to Dubai to buy another 404 carat stone. And years ago he bought in a black 312-carat diamond and a 45-carat ruby. No wonder then that diamonds are now at the center of collections.

High jewelery
For Grisogono, as it is in its tradition, the stones are not enough. It also takes great jewels. Sometimes with bold designs, sometimes with surprising combinations, in other cases with classic non-compliance of conventions. Or combinations of special stones with others: diamonds and emeralds, diamonds and sapphires, white diamonds and black diamonds.
Melody of Diamonds Collection
Shape of diamonds, combinations, volumes: the recipe for an exceptional jewel is here. And in the collection now back on the scene of the jeweler Geneva the acute are not lacking. For example, a ring ring that mounts two oval or emerald cut diamonds, a heart shaped heart core, sapphire, emerald or ruby profiles, the ring body is completely embedded with stones where the alternation of Cuts gives a melodious rhythm to creations, without forgetting the rhodium-plated black finish to underscore the chiaroscuro signature of the Maison. De Grisogono, Folies for ever

The collection of high jewelry Folies, signed de Grisogono: here is new images.
The diamonds and precious stones are the basic ingredients for a collection of fine jewelry, as Folies de Grisogono (we have anticipated here). Here are new images of jewels designed by Fawaz Gruosi, owner of Maison in Geneva. As recorded in the history of jewelry, soul and guidance of de Grisogono in 1996 won the forefront for the choice of using black diamond, or, to be more precise, named carbonado, which it became one of the hallmarks of the brand. And it is a recurring element in this collection, associated with the “cousins”, white diamonds, or rather colorless. On jewelry if they are large, with original cut, with innovative bezels that provide a unique luster and shine, to the tips of the jaws which surround the central stone. Even the interior of the jewelry is engraved with scrolls perforated and embedded. Next to the black and white out there, also jewelry with strong colors stones, such as rubies, emeralds, blue sapphires. Lavinia Andorno

Folies by de Grisogono

The new Folies collection by de Grisogono.
It was a birthday with a particularly valuable, to Fawaz Gruosi, soul and mind of de Grisogono. The party organized in Sardinia by the Geneva jeweler, with the usual celebrity outline, also saw the debut of the Folies collection. As in the tradition of de Grisogono, it is jewelry that combine the concept of luxury with that of refined choice of materials and design. A proper context, that of the party (which we publish some images), with the jewels seem designed just for friends of Gruosi. But the cheerful atmosphere should not obscure the work and the selection of the materials used. As in the case of the one-of-a-kind necklace with diamonds. It was created with white diamonds for over 90 carats, with six stones shaped like a pear. But inside it has a row of blue sapphires, almost invisible, in addition to a number of openwork decoration, with motifs characteristic of the Maison. Another outstanding piece is the ring with a large ruby natural Burmese (unheated) 8 carats, with an oval cut. The stone is surrounded by four jaws realized in turn with rubies and diamonds, while the ring shank is composed of a crown of diamond and by a row of rubies that move like a wave. All it mounted on rose gold. Noteworthy also the earrings composed of two rectangular emeralds hung from a small cascade of emeralds and sapphires. They must be liked guests to Fawaz. Super diamond to de Grisogono

Do you remember from the 404 carat diamond record? It’s been bought by Fawaz Gruosi, the founder of de Grisogono. The jeweler based in Geneva (but was born in Lebanon to a Lebanese father and Italian mother) held a press conference in Dubai to announce the news with Executive Chairman of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre and the Kimberley, Ahmed Bin Sulayem. The rough diamond acquired, through the Nemesis trading company, is one of the 30 largest high-quality diamond ever found. The stone is rare not only for its size but for its lack of color and flawless clarity. It will be interesting to find out how jeweler will cut a stone so remarkable.
Contrary to the traditional process, where the jewelers are limited to use polished stones that already exist on the market, now de Grisogono will have the opportunity to indicate the cutting process, maximizing the beauty of the end jewelry. “This diamond marks one of the most important stages of my career both as a jeweler who as a designer. Words can not express how much I and my team are grateful to Dmcc and Nemesis for such a unique collaboration”, said Gruosi. Federico Graglia

The new Boule by De Grisogono

New Boule for De Grisogono. The collection was unveiled on the web during the Basel exhibition. The novelties for the iconic collection that plays on volumes and precious stones, are engineering of setting, sizes and materials. It takes design capabilities and a great technique to create a honeycomb like setting a with haute couture finishes, explained the company. But not only that, the big ring allow to set stones of different carats that in the case of diamonds give the object an impressive light. In short, a lot of shimmering and follow the movement of the hand. Vortice, instead, is an original collection that sums up the style De Grisogono in name and shapes very natural in appearance but complex to be implemented with seven basic elements which then become 14. And you can clearly see in the earrings with the final part oscillating. The italian word Vortice means whirl and excitement, the one that drove the founder of the Maison, Fawaz Gruosi, to claim to want to continue working with the same spirit as always, that is not to be afraid to be different from industry, not to be influenced by the market: “When I started, 23 years ago, it was fashionable minimalism and I chose the opulence. Then, were fashionable colored stones and I introduced blacks diamonds. So to those who ask me about my dreams, I answer the chance to have always new ideas».
