The Jewelery House goes out of its way: these are the designers who have decided to exhibit on 23 and 24 February in Milan. They are Lucia Odescalchi, Maria Piana, Marie Khouri and Jacqueline Cullen, who will present their new collections. Lucia Odescalchi offers unique pieces, using iron, steel, silver and gold details, worked as if they were fabrics or mesh. The Continuity collection focuses on colour. Jaqueline Cullen comes from London and uses an unusual material, the Whitby Jet. Very popular at the time of Queen Victoria, this black fossil material is rare and is recovered from ancient mines and disused quarries. Subjected to a process that enhances its natural inclusions and imperfections, it can be used in jewellery. Jaqueline’s jewels are embellished with yellow gold and diamonds. Maria Piana, also based in London, focuses on stylistic innovation. Colliers, breastplates, cuffs and rings recall armour-jewels. The result is the creation of original collections. She presents the Motus line with gold-plated silver or bronze pieces, which follow the contours and movement of the body. Marie Khouri, a Canadian with Lebanese origins who lives in Paris, was born as a sculptor. Her jewels, mainly cuffs, rings and necklaces, are unique pieces. Modeled in wax, they are sculpted in bronze and covered in 24-karat gold or silver, with onyx details.
