Vintage jewelry revisited by Lucia Odescalchi to help the WWF.
Vintage jewelry donated to the WWF on the anniversary of 50 years of activity in Italy. The idea is to Lucia Odescalchi, who devotes to the World Wildlife Fund her artistic project Jewels of Nature, a mini collection of unique pieces made to defense of earth. They are 25 jewels that are revisited by the Roman designer and placed in a new context, contaminated with more modern metals such as steel or other natural elements like wood, enriched with new castings in wax or with rock crystals. The collection was presented in Rome, in Vicolo del Piombo showroom. The proceeds of the initiative will support the conservation of the WWF for the protection of its Oasis and animal species and the most endangered habitats in Italy.
“We are grateful to Lucia Odescalchi for taking his art and passion to the WWF. Always the art is inspired by nature and this collection represents a beautiful example” said the presidente of WWF Italia, Donatella Bianchi. “In 50 years of work in Italy, the association has been able to do very much, thanks to the support of hundreds of thousands of people over the years have wanted to embrace our mission. The help of many people has turned into concrete results: over 100 Oasis, natural paradise where nature and hundreds of species of animals are safe from destruction and degradation. The contributions of members and supporters have allowed WWF to fight for the preservation of iconic species of our country and yet dramatically at risk such as the wolf and brown bear. They have become centers for the rehabilitation for injured animals, environmental education centers, educational programs for children, anti-poaching Fields and coastal surveillance.”

Fino ad arrivare alla collana-abito fatta di 20 metri di catena che avvolge il corpo e lo segue morbidamente nel movimento. Gioiello o vestito, giorno o sera, estate o inverno? Non c’è più differenza. Tanto è l’accessorio, tra i toni del bronzo, dell’oro brunito, dell’acciaio canna di fucile, il protagonista, secondo la designer romana. A patto che sia ipercontemporaneo.
