Buccellati is aiming for big business. The change of ownership of the company with the entry of Claudio Sposito’s Clessidra fund and the arrival at the helm of Thierry Andretta could coincide with a relaunch of the brand. As reported by PambiancoNews, Buccellati wants to “triple the turnover in the next five years and make Buccellati the reference brand of Italian high jewelry”. Andretta, formerly of Lanvin, explained that “to achieve these goals we must first of all make the offer more rational. Up until now Buccellati only made one-of-a-kind pieces, a risk, given that it often happened that the sizes, for example, of the rings, did not fit the customers. The idea is that one-of-a-kind jewelry becomes 70% of the business. The remainder will come from what we have called Icona Collections, five jewelry collections and one watch collection that we have developed by working on the aesthetic codes of the brand, such as engravings and special workmanship such as tulle,” the manager said. He underlined how Buccellati has introduced a line of engagement rings, a line of jewelry cases for iPhones and iPads (with prices starting at 7,500 euros) and a service to create bespoke men’s watches (with prices starting at around 90,000 euros and up). On the business front, Andretta’s idea is to expand the network of single-brand stores and dealers.
