With Bulgari, a golden balance for LVMH

It seems that Italian jewelry is used to generate profits. For the French. According to the 2013 financial statements of the LVMH group, a giant that ranges from leather bags to champagne, to watches and jewelry, the acquisition of Bulgari seems to be a panacea for the accounts, at least if we read what the company declares. The LVMH group closed 2013 with revenues of over 29 billion, compared to 28 in 2012. But the area of activity related to jewelry and watches has lost some ground: the turnover has in fact fallen to 2.7 billion from 2.8 the previous year. And yet, net profits have increased. In particular, for the division that brings together brands such as Tag Heuer and Bulgari, profits have risen to 375 million euros compared to 334 in 2011. In short, a little less sales, but higher earnings. In particular, Bulgari had a great year, as demonstrated by the success of the Serpenti collection, with exhibitions held in Shanghai, Dubai and New York. The launch of the new Diva collection also went well, apparently, in addition to the B.zero1 lines and engagement rings, which contributed to the success of the brand. Super testimonial Carla Bruni strengthened the international presence of Bulgari, which also stood out in the watch segment, with Bulgari Octo maintaining its position as the top-of-the-line premium men’s timepiece.
