Changing of the guard in the LVMH group. Michael Burke, general director of Bulgari, has risen to the highest rung of the managerial ladder: he becomes, in fact, CEO of Louis Vuitton, the flagship brand of the French giant. He takes the place of Jordi Constans, who leaves “due to health problems”. Burke joined LVMH in 1986, and had been in charge of Bulgari since February 2012, after the change of ownership of the Italian brand under the French umbrella. In short, Bulgari finds itself changing its leadership for the second time within a year. Burke had previously been director of Fendi, following a career at Dior and Vuitton. Costans had only risen to the head of Vuitton in November 2011, replacing Yves Carcelles, who had led the fashion house for 22 years. Who will take Burke’s place at the jewelry company?
