As it marks its centenary, Unoaerre is focusing on fashion jewelry and inaugurating a new facility in Arezzo dedicated to this sector.
It is not just gold that shines. In fact, with the soaring cost of the yellow metal (around 120 euros per gram), many jewelry companies have faced difficulties, as consumers are less willing to spend exorbitant amounts on a single piece of jewelry. The solution lies in fashion jewelry—collections that utilize less precious and costly materials. Unoaerre, one of Italy’s major companies with a history rooted in gold jewelry, has recognized this shift. Based in Arezzo—Italy’s gold manufacturing hub—the company is investing in a new 4,800-square-meter, two-story production facility located next to its headquarters. This investment coincides with Unoaerre’s centenary; the company’s name reflects its status as the first in the Arezzo province to obtain an official goldsmith’s identification mark (or hallmark).

Unoaerre (with a turnover of 280 million euros) has invested 12 million euros in the new facility. Beyond fashion jewelry, the plant will expand production capacity for fine jewelry, providing it with more space. The facility will also accommodate the production of small metal components, chains, and handbags. It is set to be fully operational by 2027. The company also emphasizes its commitment to sustainability: the building features a water recycling system, rooftop photovoltaic panels, and LEED certification—one of the leading international standards for sustainable building construction.
