The letters become charms to hang on bracelets or necklaces in the Rosato Alphabet collection ♦
It is called Alphabet and continues the long tradition of jewelry that uses the letters as elements to compose words, initials, acronyms important for the wearer or for those who give it. The principle of the Rosato Alphabet collection (Bros Manifatture group) is similar to that known: pendants to be added to bracelets or necklaces (or, who knows, even a pair of earrings). The letters, made of 925 silver, are sold individually and cost 36 euros each. The new line of charms is added to the one already present, in which the letters are in relief on heart-shaped charms. A, B, C and D are the letters of love, just like the others in the alphabet. Because there is nothing more romantic than a sentence, a name, a date linked to a particular meaning, that accompanies the Valentine’s day. Maybe, it can be a written dedication in metal, along with the chain of a bracelet or necklace. And this is the idea of the collection Ricordami by Morellato, presented on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. Chelsea is at the same time a chic district of London, a British punk rock band and a feminine name in the Anglo-Saxon language. Now, however, it is also the name of a collection signed by Giovanni Raspini, the silver specialist who, incidentally, has just opened a mono-brand boutique in London. Who knows if the Chelsea collection will be appreciated on the banks of the Thames. The line of jewelry, obviously in silver, deviates a bit from the latest proposals of the Tuscan brand, very marked by a meticulously worked metal, in some cases with the addition of stones. In this case, however, Chelsea retraces the eternal shape of the chain, with silver rings mounted in various sizes and rotated. The result has its own personality, vaguely vintage. The subliminal word is used in psychology to describe those of sensations that take place below the level of consciousness. They are too weak to be felt by ourselves, yet they are sufficient to influence the unconscious and condition behavior. This is what happens, for example, with an apt publicity message, which induces in those who read it or watch it the unconscious stimulus to buy a product for a service. This long introduction gives way to a question: which hidden suggestion contains the Sublimia collection by Pianegonda? The question will probably remain unanswered. But the elaborate structure of the jewels of the brand’s collection now passed under the banner of Bros Manifatture, stimulates at least curiosity regarding the original design. The jewels have a large stone that is suspended in the void, between silver arches that close it to the center of soft geometries, between empty and full. The big jewelry houses are looking for the key to open the door that leads to the world of millennials. That is the younger ones, who seem less impressed by the paludate tradition of historical brands. That’s why new brands are born, which not only appeal to a younger audience, but are also created by new players. This is the case of Giulia and Federica Faggi, two Tuscan sisters who founded Rockyourmind about a year ago. The name of the jewelery brand is already an idea that suggests what kind of earrings, necklaces and bracelets are offered. First of all, a lot of design. Essential lines, without frills with direct geometries: squares, circles, triangles, rhombuses. The dimensions of the individual pieces can also be tending to maxi. The rhodium silver is in different colors (gold, silver, pink): it’s the base metal, but worked with a handmade scratch that personalizes the object. The jewels are already distributed in some jewelers store but, coherently with the mission of Rockyourmind, they are also on sale on the website of the small Maison. Even the prices are homogeneous to the audience to which the brand is addressed: ranging from 48 euros for the less expensive ring, up to 275 for the Big triangle pendent with a 90 cm chain and 315 euros for the Linear triangle bracelet.

Let’s face it: wearing a pair of earrings with large diamonds, rubies or emeralds is a tempting idea. But not all women can have high jewelry sets in the drawer and not even too many valuable jewels. That’s why there are collections born as jewels that have the classic shape, but that instead of real gemstones mount cubic zirconia or crystals with the same color of diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds. The whole, if it is not examined by an expert, has the same effect as the most noble jewels of the great Maison. The jewels of Giovanni Raspini have silver as their common denominator. Indeed, the white and shiny metal is the absolute starting point for all the collections of the Tuscan brand. It is no exception Tree of Life, collection that evolves from the sign of the tree and its leaves in necklace, pendant, earrings. Alongside the philosophical meaning and inspiration for the world of nature, the small collection of silver pieces has an aesthetic message.
The trees, in fact, have thick branches and the leaves are intertwined with garlands that somehow recall certain Renaissance decorations, those frescoes that in the past were called grotesque and were used to decorate the interiors of the buildings, trying to recreate the natural spaces. In short, these branches and leaves are almost a call that goes beyond the simple contemporary object. With the cold, winter is come, and whit cold comes ice, and with ice come jewels in the form of snow crystals or, however, inspired by frost. One of these options is represented by the collection proposed by Pandora in collaboration with Disney and inspired to the reign of Frozen. Frozen is a 2013 animated film directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, freely inspired by the fairy tale of Hans Christian Andersen The Queen of the Snow. In this case Pandora has translated into jewels the story, with a collection made of 925 sterling silver and cubic zirconia. The dresses of Elsa and Anna, protagonists of history, become brighter with the charms that portray Olaf and reproduce the crystals of the reign of Arendelle. We do not reveal the end of story (spoiler: good) but we can anticipate the prices. The pendants cost from 35 to 59 euros (those with the characters of the film), to add to the bracelet. The words art and craft have the same origin and, very often, an invisible difference. A unique piece, created following its own extravagance, is art or craftsmanship? Seeking a response is useless in the case of Fabio Lissi, jewelery designer who puts creativity, manual skill, workmanship into the workmanship. Not only that: he also uses amazing techniques. For example, in addition to the classic and traditional wax-blown melting system, Lissi found a method already used by ancient Egyptians, which plans to turn sepia bones into metal mold. The inside and limestone shell of the cuttlefish is a rigid but soft material that Lissi models in to the desired shape. In this way he turns into mold: in this way he has created several jewels that are exhibited in his atelier opened in 2014 at via Mascheroni, Milan.
One of the artist’s jewelers specialties is the creation of unique pieces that combine with the spirit and the demands of a buyer. Since winter needs the colors of spring to be less gray, the collection is dedicated to a flower that marks the very beginning of the new beautiful season, the tulip. The Tiny Tulip collection consists of earrings, pendants, rings, necklaces, made with a special eye for younger women. The theme of the flower is summarized in the labels that stop pearls or natural stones and recall the wrap-around petals of the tulip. The technique is the usual one of Yvone Christa: silver embroidered with pearls or stones such as citrine or quartz, with a lightweight shape and soft colors. Design and silver are a real couple. White, shiny, pure metal is often associated with a strong focus on the look of jewelery design. This is the strength of De Vecchi, born in Milan in 1935 as a metal white specialist, and not just in the field of jewelery. The end of 2017, in any case, represents the debut of two new collections by De Vecchi. Of one, Foglie, we wrote here. The other new collection is called Primitive. As the name suggests, it is inspired by ancient tribal shapes such as shell necklaces or arrow tip. Only those forms are translated into a more modern and stylized design, with forms that are changed into contemporary language. Prices: The Primitive collection bracelet costs 709 euros, the necklace is 989 euros, the earrings 199 euros.

De Vecchi transforms silver into gold

De Vecchi introduces gold jewelery in the Foglie collection next to the classic silver ♦ ︎
To turn silver into gold you have to be alchemists (with a little fancy) or call yourself De Vecchi. The old Milanese Maison, famous for its silverware, after over 80 years of it turns with a collection that also includes gold. All right, most of the design jewels decidedly remain in silver. But the three 9-carat gold jewelery introduced in the Foglie collection is a turning point in the company’s history. It was not a random decision. The request, they explain in the company, comes from the market, that is, by so many jewelers who have asked for a variant of only silver. These are satisfied with the Foglie collection, with a very northern design, simple, with a touch of art deco. The collection includes pendant, ring and earrings both in silver and yellow metal, with light carat. The prices are obviously different: the silver pendant costs 185 euros, while in the gold version 819. The rings cost 213 in silver and 469 euros in gold. The earrings are 198 euros in silver and 549 euros in gold.

Jewelery has always had also a supernatural function as well as than an aesthetic ornamentation. At first were amulets, then signs of religious faith: this kind of jewelery has a large number of users. In the West, for example, there are many jewelers who propose a cross-shaped pendant, more or less precious. In Islamic countries, however, other symbols are used, such as Fatima’s hand.
Tuum is a brand that has completely embraced this philosophy and proposes jewels exclusively related to christian religious sentiment. Now in the extensive Tuum catalog there is the Settedoni collection, inspired by the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, and Doni (means gift) collection. And maybe is also a suggestion for Christmas gifts. The Settedoni collection offers the possibility of obtaining (virtually) Sapientia, Intellectus, Consilium, Fortitudo, Scientia, Pietas and Timor Domini together (virtually). For example, with a necklace, or a bracelet or ring, representing values that best fit own personality. The Settedoni ring, for example, is made up of seven singles, chained together, but also movable. It is available in silver, silver and gold or just gold, for both man and woman.
