The New New Barocco by Roberto Coin

New pieces from the New Barocco collection signed by Roberto Coin ♦ ︎
The Venetian Baroque is not only an artistic style that characterizes a historic moment, the eighteenth century, but an absolute value. Also for this, years ago Roberto Coin, a jeweler born in Veneto, but with a creativity without territorial boundaries, has introduced among the many jewelery lines the Barocco collection. To this, given the success, is followed by New Barocco.
A couple of years after its introduction, the jewelery line continues to renew: maybe we should call it New New Barocco. In any case, although the jewelery line has been enriched with new pieces, the technique has remained the same: jewels are made of twisted gold. Together with the light, vaporous and rich gold, they glitter white diamonds with round cut, but they are joined to each other to form an elongated oval that resembles a marquise cut stone. On the other hand, Baroque is just a style that uses simple shapes to reach complex goals. Giulia Netrese

Dior, where the Rose des Vents blows

Dior’s Rose des Vents blows again and welcomes new colors and pieces ♦
The Rose des Vents continues to blow in one direction: the addition of new pieces to the collection that Dior’s artistic director, Victoire de Castellane, launched in 2015. The jewelery line is inspired, as is well known, to the founder’s story The Maison, Christian Dior, and his country house in Granville, France. The idea of offering bracelets, necklaces and rings with the shape of the rim with the cardinal points actually refers to the superstition that the designer did not conceal. Dior was very superstitious and always he held with him a star found in front of the British Embassy in Paris as an amulet. She also consulted periodically seers and fortune-tellers.
But this probably does not matter to anyone who wants to wear the jewels of this collection, which, among other things, have a relatively affordable price (from 1300 to 6500 euros). The symbol of the rose of the winds has thus declined in gold, diamonds, and now also in malachite and opal. Bracelets, rings and sautoir, in short, have new wind puff. And for the fall season is expected a new substantial stream of new pieces. Alessia Mongrando

Wonder Woman jewels

The bijoux which are inspired to Wonder Woman: for those who dream super powers ♦
Now it is a classic: along with a successful movie, there are those who hasten to propose bijoux on the subject. This is the case, for example, of Wonder Woman. The film, plays by Israeli actress Gal Gadot, is a blockbuster. And so the American chain Alex and Ani has decided to propose some bijoux (they also are sold online) inspired by the heroine capable of saving the world (this is not a news). The mini collection consists of only seven pieces, from the ring to the cuff that is inspired, in effect, to the band-belt of Wonder Woman. The color is yellow: the bijoux is in sterling silver with an external gilding. The price of bijoux is as popular as the cartoon character which has become a movie: it ranges from $ 38 to $ 88. An inevitable accessory for cosplay enthusiasts.
Alex and Ani is a brand founded by Carolyn Rafaelian, who has transformed a family jewelery tradition into a grand style company. The jewelery brand was born in 2004 and at today, the company has donated more than $ 46 million to non-profit associations around the world. An aspect that would please Wonder Woman. London air for Maria and Luisa

Maria and Luisa (Pianegonda) is preparing to conquer Great Britain with her silver jewelery ♦
If it is a case of personality duplication, it works fine. And it is desirable that healing remains far away. Yes, because Maria e Luisa Jewels is not, as you might think, a company born by two friends, but of the same person: Maria Luisa Pianegonda. If the name tells you something, you guessed it. Now Pianegonda is a trademark belonging to the Bros Manifatture group, while Pianegonda person belongs to itself. In short, another doubling. But it is all the result of the Vicenza designer’s choices, which in 2012 abandoned her brand for a crisis, she explains, entirely personal. She traveled to the eastern countries that arouse apprehension, such as Afghanistan, she helped the Pangea Foundation, which helps women to claim their rights. A journey, even inner, that pushed her to start over. Sold the brand Pianegonda, she chose Milan to launch his boutique: Maria and Luisa Jewels. The choice of the English word is not casual: after relaunching relationships with its former clients in Italy, Maria and Luisa Jewels has the goal of expanding abroad. It is no surprise, then, that a serious headline such as the British magazine Professional Jeweller writes that the Venetian designer’s Maison was preparing to conquer the United Kingdom.
Maria Luisa Pianegonda is a specialist in silver jewelery. But silver worked handmade, very well-treated, treated like gold. She also uses stones such as quartz or topaz to enrich bracelets, rings and necklaces. All jewels are made by artisans in Milan and partly finished in Vicenza, its starting point. The journey continues. Giulia Netrese

Chantecler more Enchanté

In Las Vegas, Chantecler also brings the renewed Enchanté collection ♦
In the year of her 70th birthday, Chantecler was sailed from Capri to land in Las Vegas, although there are not sea over there. One news are the red coral earrings and diamond paved on pink gold enriching the already thick Enchanté collection . The collection is inspired by a romantic rock-dug road linking the old town center with Marina Piccola, in Capri. The path is paved with irregular stones and goes down to a blue seas and is unforgettable.
Those variable-shaped stones have become elements that make up a series of jewels in the Maison, which have as a common element a pavé of white diamonds interrupted by placement of hard stones or coral. A tribute to the island of the Mediterranean that saw the birth of the brand, but also to the enchantment that is felt, more generally, facing the sea and the sun. The colors used in the collection are very strong: from red coral, to turquoise, to black onyx, to the kogolong, a white volcanic stone, glossy like ceramic but durable like marble. After all, the Vesuvius volcano is not far away. Giulia Netrese

David Webb in Paisley shape

David Webb presents at Couture its renewed collections ♦
Exoticism is the kind of cultural and artistic reference inspired by forms and stories of distant lands. Today is no longer very interesting, but it was cool an half a century ago it was. And for David Webb, class 1925, born in North Carolina, Greece, Syria, Turkey and Peru were far away. But full of charm, especially for their ancient history, traditions and artistic legacy.
Many years ago, the Ancient World collection, which was inspired by exotic and antiques shapes, was born from this interest. After the death of the designer, the company that discovered the inheritance continues the work of the founder, and the Ancient World collection continues to grow in pieces, such as the Paisley ring, inspired by the Indian geometric pattern, presented at Couture in Las Vegas. Enamel, 18-karat gold, unique jewelery combinations, use of precious jade, give a special charm to this collection. At the show of the city of Nevada, however, David Webb also brings other novelties such as the jewelry from the Toolchest collections, with 18K gold-tone motifs, and Wood Works, inspired by the American designer’s original designs but reinterpreting them with the wood. Remida Tornaghi transforms Giò Ponti into gold

Also a collection inspired by the great architect Giò Ponti among the novelties of Remida Tornaghi ♦
The name is inextricably linked to gold: Remida (King Midas). Though it is written in one word, the reference is to the mythical king of Frigia which could changed in gold anything touched. So, it was a little too. Andrea Tornaghi, on the other hand, has limited itself to transforming gold into jewelery in the three boutiques open in three strategic points: Monza, capital of the rich Brianza, Forte dei Marmi, capital of rich Versilia, and Sainkt Moritz, capital of rich Engadin (Swiss). Everywhere in this towns Remida can be at ease.
The little Maison was born in 1970 on initiative, perhaps more for the passion than for business, of the mother of the current owner and designer, Mary, who started a little countercurrent to propose earrings pendent. But in spite of the name, jewelery stores led by Tornaghi does not offer only gold jewelery. In fact, it is also proud to design collections that use materials such as titanium, iron or wood. Not only: beside collections that caress a more traditional style, it also features jewelery lines inspired by the great design made in Italy. Like the Avio collection, which takes the style dear to one of a famous architect of the 1930s and 40s, Giò Ponti. An unusual and particularly refined choice. Probably appreciated by Monza, Forte dei Marmi and Sainkt Moritz customers. Alessia Mongrando

From Nanis drops in Las Vegas

The Nanis rain drops with the novelties of the Dancing in the Rain collection ♦
Rain in Las Vegas. Drops, however, rarely fall in the Nevada desert, and are man’s work. Or, better, by a woman, since the Dancing in the Rain collection is made by Laura Bicego, founder and designer of Nanis. The Italian Maison has decided to take part in Couture, the international event organized in the capital city of the game, even with the latest additions to one of the most successful collections of the Venetian company. Dancing in the Rain, in fact, even is now in total white, that is, with gold not only yellow, and moonstone. The collection starts with a primitive inspiration, that of the primordial jewelry made man with the simple use of shells, stones or seeds. The same succession of soft and rounded elements is the thread of the collection, which uses gold with delicate colors, such as aquamarines, moon stones, pink opal. As it is in the Nanis style, all the elements of necklaces, rings or bracelets are patiently scratched by hand with a tool. Even these tiny irregularities approach the jewel to the concept of handmade. Margherita Donato

An Anaconda in Vendorafa

Among the new entries of Vendorafa it’s coming the Anaconda collection ♦
It’s a company working in the Piedmontese cradle of large goldsmiths. But it’s not easy find the jewels of this Italian company are in Italy. Vendorafa, in fact, sells over 80% of its jewels abroad. This does not mean, however, that it is not appreciated in the Peninsula that faces the Mediterranean.
For 2017 the novelty of Vendorafa has the name of a snake: Anaconda.

It is the largest and longest reptile that exists in nature, while in the precious version of the brand, presented at the Las Vegas Couture, is smaller in size, and you can wear it without any problems. The jewelery surface of the Anaconda collection has a pattern that mimics that of snake skin, but in addition with some small diamonds embedded. The gold surface, handmade worked, is also one of the characteristics of the company’s production since its founding in 1951. Hammering, engraving and embossing are the characteristic signs of its jewels, as in the case of the Bamboo collection, but also of other lines where colored stones are used, as in the jewels of the Floral or Brooches series. Bizzotto good luck

Four-leaf clover and buckles signed by Bizzotto at Las Vegas Couture ♦
At Couture 2017 in Las Vegas, Bizzotto Gioielli relaunches the Fibbie (Buckle) collection. Proposed time ago, the Fibbie collection is one of the most successful lines of the Venetian brand. The basic element of the collection is the yellow, pink or white gold mesh-chain, soft and elastic, with diamonds added, pavé or individually embedded. The shape of jewels is that of a belt with a large buckle, element that gives the name to the collection. With this technique were designed bracelets, wide or thinner, but also rings. The company, specialized in gold processing, was founded more than 40 years ago by Cesare Bizzotto, initially with a line of necklaces, and then with other types of jewelery. Along with the technique of gold magic, at Couture Bizzotto also features the new Quadrifoglio line, where the gold mesh is matched with diamonds forming the four leaves of the talisman plant. Do not forget about me, blooms in the Harry Winston collection ♦
Let’s say it straight away: romantic love is a good thing. But when it’s accompanied by a jewel is even better. On the other hand, gifting a jewel is a way to tie a woman to yourself. In short, it’s like saying it: remember me, do not forget. And that is why the forget-me-not flower is associated with hearts affair. And sometimes it is also associated with jewels, such as Harry Winston’s Forget-Me-Not collection.
As you will know, Maison Harry Winston is one of the most renowned for its diamond jewelery. And here, in fact, that the flowered meadow with forget-me-not flower is composed of diamonds on white gold. All the jewels (two necklaces, earrings, ring bracelet and even a pendant) proposed reproduce the corolla with six flower petals with pear-shaped, rounded and marquise stones. Needless to say that diamonds are top quality. And, in fact, how you could forget who gives you one? Lavinia Andorno

The 100 facets of Roberto Coin

New jewels in Roberto Coin’s Haute Couture collection. With a special cut ♦
Among its hundreds of lives and countless collections, the volcanic designer named Roberto Coin, one of the most colorful line of jewelry and loveliest is the Haute Couture. Cocktail rings and butterfly shaped brooches are made of precious stones and colors stones, from diamonds to tourmaline, from peridot to sapphire.

At Baseleworld 2017 also are showed new necklaces and rings, which have been inserted in the same collection. We talk about a necklace in white gold with pearls and blue sapphires with Cento cut, and of a similar necklace but with pink pearls and sapphires and coordinated rings. Let’s add that Cento cut is another of Roberto Coin’s ideas, which initially applied to diamonds. It is a cut that is obtained by dividing the stone into nine different sections from which to start and scrap the 100 facets that take the place of the traditionals 57-58. The effect is that of the kaleidoscope. Lavinia Andorno

New earrings and rings are added to the Tourbillon collection of Vhernier ♦
Couple’s life is complicated: hugs are followed by misunderstandings, and then others embraces. In short, life is a tourbillon, a reel, with joyful, engaging and other more problemsmatic moments. Perhaps thinking about this interweaving that never stops has been born years ago the Tourbillon Ring of Vhernier. It is one of those jewels that can boast an unmistakable design. In fact, the Tourbillon collection has been successful, to be constantly renewed and enlarged. With spring 2017, for example, the rings have been added to the earrings: two overlapped and offset semicircles that caress and enrich, adaping kindly to the ear. Space Odyssey with Dominic Jones

Dominic Jones designed for Astley Clarke the Astronomy collection: a journey into the Solar System with jewelry ♦
Dominic Jones won five times the award as a Jewelery designer of the year, also appreciated by Anna Wintour. In 2009, therefore, she decided to gain recognition and gave birth to her brand in London. Like every successful designer, she has labeled in her block-notes the names of the stars of the show who wore her jewels, as Beyoncé, Rihanna, Florence Welch, while her jewels are distributed by Net-a-porter, Liberty, Joseph and Harvey Nichols in London, and Corso Como 10 (in Milan) in Italy. But that’s not enough.
In the fall, Dominic Jones became creative director of the London Mansion Astley Clarke. A few months later, here is the fruit of collaboration: the Astronomy collection. It’s a tour in the space or, better than the solar system, through earrings, rings and necklaces. Jewels with unquestionable creativity, at prices ranging between 450 and 5,300 euros. The materials used are gold, diamonds, sapphires, but also less expensive stones such as agate or (obviously) moonstone. it could not have been missing. Lavinia Andorno

Giovanni Raspini plays with Blue Note

The Blue Note collection by Giovanni Raspini: silver, but golden. Images and prices ♦
The blue note is a very special note that you find found in jazz and blues. From this musical singularity it has been named a famous club in New York City, where you can play or heard jazz. Finally, the reputation of Blue Note also came to Italy with the opening of a similar music-restaurant in Milan. But not only: in Florence, the silver specialist Giovanni Raspini has devised a collection called Blue Note. But it is different from the classic productions signed by Raspini.
In this case, in fact, Blue Note is in golden silver. On the metal there are also plaque inserts of lapis lazuli, with bronze scales. In the shape of a disc, or in the cabochon cuts, the blue and bronze are blended with the golden reflections of the castone. In short, something different than classic silver jewelery: style refers, if anything, to the seventies. The collection includes two pendants, a bracelet, a ring and a pair of earrings. Prices: bracelet 430 euro, ring 190 euro, earrings 240 euro, pendant 220 euro. Margherita Donato

Fantastic Rings and Where to Find Them

A review of rings inspired by the world of Harry Potter and, more generally, fantasy themes ♦
We confess it: the team of gioiellis.com, in almost all, cultivates an extra passion beyond that for jewelery. The passion for the Harry Potter saga. We could write a long time about why we find fascinating, and by no means infantile, this story that, behind magic, reveals a philosophy of life that is of tolerance and growth. But this is not the right place. We have, however, fall under our two passions with this harrypotter-style ring collection. If magicians really exist in an invisible world to us without magic powers, they might be interested in this review of rings that would have been perfect in movies that have enchanted millions of people. These rings are inspired directly to the magical world described by legendary J.K. Rowling, or fantasy themes in general. There is for every taste, whether you are muggle or not. But do not try to order them using a magic wand: it takes a muggle credit card. Lavinia Andorno

Stefan Hafner flies with Aria

Stefan Hafner’s Aria collection still has bright colors. Thanks also to Fire and Water ♦
There is nothing more impalpable about luxury. There is nothing more real, but elusive, of elegance. And there is nothing less objective than aesthetics. Perhaps for this a couple of years ago Stefan Hafner dedicated a collection to the Aria.
Also read: Air, Water and Fire for Hafner
The Aria collection is also dedicated to other natural elements such as Water and Fire. Because, in reality, jewels take pride in nature to represent a concert of contrasts, exhibited with the different colors of the stones, the alternation of colors and volumes. This multiple collection, Aria more Fire and Water, has increased over time. It has therefore enriched pieces and colors. And, of course, also of contrasts. It is time, therefore, to make order and show what has become the collection, which remains one of the most lively of the lively of Maison from Piedmont. Giulia Netrese

A Venus for Casato

Casato enriches its Venus collection with new jewels and three colored stones ♦
Discovered for those who do not know it, rediscovered for those who had missed it: Venus rises from the waters of the jewelery on the wave driven by Casato. The Roman Maison has decided to enrich one of its most successful collections, Venus, with rings, earrings and gold and enamel pendants in five different colors, with shades bright. Now the jewels of the collection proposed by Casato include amethyst, blue topaz and citrine. The stones are cut in the shape of a heart or pillow. The style is quite rich, almost baroque: you can imagine jewels in the background of the sixteenth-century palaces of Bernini’s Rome.
But, perhaps, the most innovative aspect is the ability to customize jewels by adding the name of the name to the enamel. A chance probably appreciated by those who want to make (or do herself) a gift. Giulia Netrese

Nana for Liz

A collection of jewels dedicated to Liz Taylor: it’s the idea by Swiss designer Nana Fink ♦
You can wonder yourself why there are myths that go down and others who endure in time. One of the myths non-tarnishable is that of Liz Taylor. Actress, husband collector, activist in the fight against Aids, has marked an entire era of Hollywood. But she was also a big fan of jewels: Elizabeth Taylor has collected so many, especially very expensive. Probably would have appreciated the dedication by Swiss designer Nana Fink, who chose to name her new collection Liz, in honor of the great artist who disappeared in 2011.
The style of the collection is original but at the same time has something that seems to be referred to the past century, for example, with diamonds (Liz’s favorite stone) antique cut. But the collection also uses colored stones, such as tourmalines and sapphires. The price of jewels: from 7200 dollars for a diamond ring for 2.7 carats, to 9800 dollars for gold earrings with rubies, tourmaline sapphires and aquamarine, until a diamond ring with tourmaline and sapphires, which costs 5,600 dollars.
