The Venetian Baroque is not only an artistic style that characterizes a historic moment, the eighteenth century, but an absolute value. Also for this, years ago Roberto Coin, a jeweler born in Veneto, but with a creativity without territorial boundaries, has introduced among the many jewelery lines the Barocco collection. To this, given the success, is followed by New Barocco.
A couple of years after its introduction, the jewelery line continues to renew: maybe we should call it New New Barocco. In any case, although the jewelery line has been enriched with new pieces, the technique has remained the same: jewels are made of twisted gold. Together with the light, vaporous and rich gold, they glitter white diamonds with round cut, but they are joined to each other to form an elongated oval that resembles a marquise cut stone. Dior’s Rose des Vents blows again and welcomes new colors and pieces ♦
The Rose des Vents continues to blow in one direction: the addition of new pieces to the collection that Dior’s artistic director, Victoire de Castellane, launched in 2015. The jewelery line is inspired, as is well known, to the founder’s story The Maison, Christian Dior, and his country house in Granville, France. The idea of offering bracelets, necklaces and rings with the shape of the rim with the cardinal points actually refers to the superstition that the designer did not conceal. Dior was very superstitious and always he held with him a star found in front of the British Embassy in Paris as an amulet. She also consulted periodically seers and fortune-tellers.
But this probably does not matter to anyone who wants to wear the jewels of this collection, which, among other things, have a relatively affordable price (from 1300 to 6500 euros). The symbol of the rose of the winds has thus declined in gold, diamonds, and now also in malachite and opal. Bracelets, rings and sautoir, in short, have new wind puff. In the year of her 70th birthday, Chantecler was sailed from Capri to land in Las Vegas, although there are not sea over there. It’s a company working in the Piedmontese cradle of large goldsmiths. But it’s not easy find the jewels of this Italian company are in Italy. Vendorafa, in fact, sells over 80% of its jewels abroad. This does not mean, however, that it is not appreciated in the Peninsula that faces the Mediterranean.
For 2017 the novelty of Vendorafa has the name of a snake: Anaconda.

It is the largest and longest reptile that exists in nature, while in the precious version of the brand, presented at the Las Vegas Couture, is smaller in size, and you can wear it without any problems. The jewelery surface of the Anaconda collection has a pattern that mimics that of snake skin, but in addition with some small diamonds embedded. The gold surface, handmade worked, is also one of the characteristics of the company’s production since its founding in 1951. Hammering, engraving and embossing are the characteristic signs of its jewels, as in the case of the Bamboo collection, but also of other lines where colored stones are used, as in the jewels of the Floral or Brooches series. At Couture 2017 in Las Vegas, Bizzotto Gioielli relaunches the Fibbie (Buckle) collection. Proposed time ago, the Fibbie collection is one of the most successful lines of the Venetian brand. Among its hundreds of lives and countless collections, the volcanic designer named Roberto Coin, one of the most colorful line of jewelry and loveliest is the Haute Couture. Cocktail rings and butterfly shaped brooches are made of precious stones and colors stones, from diamonds to tourmaline, from peridot to sapphire.

At Baseleworld 2017 also are showed new necklaces and rings, which have been inserted in the same collection. We talk about a necklace in white gold with pearls and blue sapphires with Cento cut, and of a similar necklace but with pink pearls and sapphires and coordinated rings. Let’s add that Cento cut is another of Roberto Coin’s ideas, which initially applied to diamonds. Dominic Jones won five times the award as a Jewelery designer of the year, also appreciated by Anna Wintour. In 2009, therefore, she decided to gain recognition and gave birth to her brand in London. Like every successful designer, she has labeled in her block-notes the names of the stars of the show who wore her jewels, as Beyoncé, Rihanna, Florence Welch, while her jewels are distributed by Net-a-porter, Liberty, Joseph and Harvey Nichols in London, and Corso Como 10 (in Milan) in Italy. The blue note is a very special note that you find found in jazz and blues. From this musical singularity it has been named a famous club in New York City, where you can play or heard jazz. Finally, the reputation of Blue Note also came to Italy with the opening of a similar music-restaurant in Milan. But not only: in Florence, the silver specialist Giovanni Raspini has devised a collection called Blue Note. But it is different from the classic productions signed by Raspini.
In this case, in fact, Blue Note is in golden silver. On the metal there are also plaque inserts of lapis lazuli, with bronze scales. Discovered for those who do not know it, rediscovered for those who had missed it: Venus rises from the waters of the jewelery on the wave driven by Casato. The Roman Maison has decided to enrich one of its most successful collections, Venus, with rings, earrings and gold and enamel pendants in five different colors, with shades bright. Now the jewels of the collection proposed by Casato include amethyst, blue topaz and citrine. The stones are cut in the shape of a heart or pillow. The style is quite rich, almost baroque: you can imagine jewels in the background of the sixteenth-century palaces of Bernini’s Rome.

A collection of jewels dedicated to Liz Taylor: it’s the idea by Swiss designer Nana Fink ♦
You can wonder yourself why there are myths that go down and others who endure in time. One of the myths non-tarnishable is that of Liz Taylor. Actress, husband collector, activist in the fight against Aids, has marked an entire era of Hollywood. But she was also a big fan of jewels: Elizabeth Taylor has collected so many, especially very expensive. Probably would have appreciated the dedication by Swiss designer Nana Fink, who chose to name her new collection Liz, in honor of the great artist who disappeared in 2011.
The style of the collection is original but at the same time has something that seems to be referred to the past century, for example, with diamonds (Liz’s favorite stone) antique cut. But the collection also uses colored stones, such as tourmalines and sapphires. The price of jewels: from 7200 dollars for a diamond ring for 2.7 carats, to 9800 dollars for gold earrings with rubies, tourmaline sapphires and aquamarine, until a diamond ring with tourmaline and sapphires, which costs 5,600 dollars.
