A collection of jewels dedicated to Liz Taylor: it’s the idea by Swiss designer Nana Fink ♦
You can wonder yourself why there are myths that go down and others who endure in time. One of the myths non-tarnishable is that of Liz Taylor. Actress, husband collector, activist in the fight against Aids, has marked an entire era of Hollywood. But she was also a big fan of jewels: Elizabeth Taylor has collected so many, especially very expensive. Probably would have appreciated the dedication by Swiss designer Nana Fink, who chose to name her new collection Liz, in honor of the great artist who disappeared in 2011.
The style of the collection is original but at the same time has something that seems to be referred to the past century, for example, with diamonds (Liz’s favorite stone) antique cut. But the collection also uses colored stones, such as tourmalines and sapphires. The price of jewels: from 7200 dollars for a diamond ring for 2.7 carats, to 9800 dollars for gold earrings with rubies, tourmaline sapphires and aquamarine, until a diamond ring with tourmaline and sapphires, which costs 5,600 dollars. Among the companies that make up the Italian landscape of jewelery, Falcinelli Italy occupies a separate place. Founded in 1968 in Arezzo, the company is now run by Fabrizio Falcinelli, who is also the designer. But, unlike other colleagues, Falcinelli moves on several fronts. Not only that of gold, which is the specialty of the Tuscan jewelery district, but also of diamonds, with a dedicated brand and, from some time, jewelry accessories such as evening bags presented at VicenzaOro and Embellished with precious stones. But, of course, the main activity is focused on traditional jewels, as evidenced by the recent acknowledgment obtained at Première, the competition organized under OroArezzo (we have talked about here). The Met Gala is a traditional charity dinner that is held every year and has of official target an annual fundraising for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York. The real goal, instead, is the occasion for an outfit, often extravagant, of various celebrities, especially actresses and singers. In addition to exhibiting designer dresses designed to be noticed at all costs, Met Gala sees jewelery from the great Maison on the red carpet. Among the jewels that were most appreciated this year were those of Ana Khouri worn by model Anna Cleveland, who chose earrings and tiara signed by the Brazilian designer (born in Sao Paulo) but which lives in New York City. An eye-catching gardenia on the suit has for decades been the distinguishing sign for elegant women and men, but also the fragrant icon of the beautiful season. Gardenia, however, is white. A little countercurrent, instead, Recarlo choses to dedicate to the immaculate flower a colorful collection, though in a setting of white gold. The Gardenia jewelry line has greeted the mildest spring temperature with a well-defined design: ovals of rubies, emeralds and blue sapphires, bordered by other smaller stones of the same type to make halo. This is the case with Giulia Barela, a Roman designer who adds new pieces from the Knot Light capsule collection. Knot Light jewels are one of Giulia Barela’s novelties presented for the summer season 2017. They are a reworking of the Knot collection, which was one of the most appreciated of the Roman designer. The Knot Light Collection consists of a choker, earrings and ear cuff, bracelet and ring, all made in both the 24k gold plated bronze version and silver. The legends have always inspired the artists. Not surprisingly, they also inspire designers and jewelers, especially if the legends are ancient, fascinating, exotic. Like that chosen by Carrera y Carrera for the Circulos de Fuego collection.
Here is the story from which it originated: once upon a time, there is a dragon called Orochie that lived on a hidden island in southern China. Throughout the realm it was known for turning every stone into the most precious metal with the flame coming out of its mouth. The legend states that the Emperor’s greatest desire was to get the Dragon’s Fire and thus possess the greatest treasure of the world. One morning, the Emperor decided to send his daughter, the most beautiful princess in the whole kingdom, to speak with Orochie. Princess Feng was so beautiful that Orochie fell in love with her and kissed her to gift her the fire. No one knew, however, that giving up his fire meant the death of the dragon. And so, she was so sad that decided not to marry and to always protect the fire of the Dragon with his own life.
From this romantic and sad story, the great Spanish Maison has embarked on a series of luscious jewels in white and yellow gold, plus a number of precious stones. These jewels will undoubtedly like in the Orient, but they also have a certain charm for Western women as well. Giulia Netrese

To indicate a rich person, is said to be like a maharaja. Princes and rulers of the ancient territories of India, particularly Rajasthan, have entered the collective imagination. So why not summon wealth through their image? That’s what Salvini (a Damiani Group brand) did with the Maharaja collection. No elephants or ethnic icons, though.
The collection is rather inspired by the architecture of the kings’ palaces, with jewelery details reminiscent of the lacework of capitals or bows, as in the multiple ring that resembles a embroidered gallery. The collection is available in all three gold colors, with more diamonds, sapphires and rubies. In short, the stones preferred by the maharaja. Between lace and ramage, with sinuous lines, there is also the classic paisley motif (as a comma inverted) that is a classic of oriental decoration. As we mentioned before (read here), Tiffany launched a new jewelery collection, Tiffany City HardWear. The official idea is to represent New York’s energy and spirit. The real idea is to propose a line of jewels young, fresh and eye-catching for the Millenials. The proof is that the face of the new campaign is Lady Gaga. However, it is probable that jewels are more appreciated for what they are, a collection that can be easily worn, even to go to the office or to shop. Street style, in short, but obviously delicately sophisticated. To widen the audience of Maison enthusiasts on the Fifth Road and her potential customers, the jewels are available in two versions: in yellow, pink or silver. Same design, prices of course very different.
The design is very modern, almost industrial suggests Tiffany. The Link chain is characterized by simple and clean lines: the yellow gold chain necklace is created with scaled elements with a special retractable closure. The earrings are triple drops or, better, with three spheres held together by two small chains. There is also a single sphere model. Add to the bracelet a padlock and a small detachable ball. Prices: The bracelet costs 8,200 euros in the gold version, only 1,150 euros in silver. The three-ball earrings cost 3150 in the gold version and 580 euros in the silver version. The play of words (with toi et moi), but obviously first of all the design, was rewarded: the Pois Moi collection by Roberto Coin is one of the successes. In Baselworld 2017, the Italian designer has presented new additions, variations on the style of the collection, which must be remembered, received the Palladio 2014 prize at VicenzaOro as the best Italian jewelery collection around the world. Only a few years have passed since the debut, but Pois Moi is now considered a brand icon.
It is a complete collection, which includes bracelets, rings, pendants and earrings. According to the Maison, the first version offered gold as the absolute protagonist in three yellow, white and pink colors. This is followed by a top version of the range, with diamond pavé. The design also has a somewhat fun background: it is inspired, in fact, to a vintage “television” style of the 1950s. This aspect is determined by the shape of rings, bangles and pavé embedded in the jewels, which recalls the shape of the first television sets. There are those who are concerned to emphasize the desire to safeguard the environment by showing the ethical origin of gold and precious stones. And there are those who do more: consider nature not only as a source of inspiration, but as a subject to be put to the fore in his work. And it’s not a way of saying: On April 22, 2017, on the site of Daniela Villegas, one of the most brilliant designers on the international jewelery market, has issued an appeal on Earth Day, often celebrated too formal.

The Bloom collection of Fernando Jorge: the color of the Brazilian nature warms London.
The heat of Rio de Janeiro in staid London: Fernando Jorge has not forgotten the colors and the exuberance of his country of origin (we talked about here). After studying in Sao Paulo, Fernando has been working for almost ten years as a designer for various brands of jewelry Brazilian before moving to London for the classic Master in Jewellery Design at Central Saint Martins. His first collection, in 2010, was successful and so he moved in the UK. But with the classic nostalgia that have the Brazilians (but actually almost all those who emigrate). And therefore the Bloom collection, which “explores the ephemeral nature of the botanical world, capturing the moment when its beauty and exuberance are revealed. From the simplicity of stems and sprouts to elaborate one-of-a-kind pieces that celebrate icons of Brazilian nature”. A description that explains well what is the philosophy of this collection that is based on two elements: the compositional imagination, using stones as Amazonian flower petals, and the strong colors of tourmaline, topaz, amethyst, and so on. The random encounters sometimes turn into love meetings, those that celebrate Valentine’s Day and then maybe go on for a long time. These Meetings with initial capital letter, are also those that have inspired Incontri, a new collection by Salvini. Incontri is a line of jewelry that is exactly half way, by price range, and that is why it will meet (it must be said) the public’s favor. The style prefers the line curves, with gold metal parts (white, yellow and pink) that intersect, as if to draw an alpha (α) letter.
The gold-setting is embellished with small diamonds, which sometimes surround, are set in pavé or are at the center of a halo-style setting, that is, with a diamond in the center and small diamonds around, to increase light reflection . The collection includes rings, bracelets, earrings and necklaces. Indicative prices: a base ring, without profusion of diamonds, costs less than a thousand euro. For the ring with diamonds rises to about 1500 Euros, whilst the bracelets have a price of around 2,000 euros. The collier ranging from one thousand to € 2,000, depending on the amount of diamonds used.

Two rings of high jewelry by Pasquale Bruni: they are part of Secret Gardens collection ♦
As is known, the gardens flourish again. Even those that are secrets, that are little known. Indeed, perhaps they are the ones who flourish most. Like love, the summer and the wind, the flowers mark the time of the seasons and get color to life. This premise poetry serves to introduce the new fine jewelry rings that are part of the collection Secret Gardens, Atelier, by Pasquale Bruni. They are pieces of high jewelry and are part of the best-known collection, which is inspired by those unfamiliar green handkerchiefs hidden in the courtyards of Milan. They follow a logic not only of interpretation but also the realization that put them at higher step on podium of the jewelry.
Eugenia Bruni wanted to affix a kind of epigraph to describe these two pieces: “The gem is the heart of Flora enveloped of the love of Zephyrus in a wind of passion”. More prosaically, the ring Flora is made of white gold with rubellite and rubies. The Zephyr yellow gold ring with emerald, white diamonds and emeralds. Chreo a surprise

The amazing creations (one in particular) of the Neapolitan designer with nickname Chreo ♦
On its website, she begins: “My name is Daniela Montella, but call me Chreo.” This stage name, which sounds as create verb plus an ‘h’, has its reason in the curriculum of the designer: Maturity of Art degree in applied section Metals and Jewelery Institute of Art in Naples, then apprentice in several workshops in contact with different master craftsmen, and different techniques.
Daniela Montella tells always that these experiences have taught her to build nineteenth century style jewelry, Art Deco, the Fifties. In short: she is not one of those designers who have an idea, draw a sketch on a paper and then leave to the goldsmiths the task of creating the collections. She, true artisan training, knows the problems and rules to follow to traformare ideas into jewelry. And her jewelery is made with the technique of casting and roughly assembled and finished by hand. The colored elements, peculiarities of the line, are made of resin. According to his description, the process is long and complex: mixing the pigments to obtain the desired color, the casting, with attention to avoid the threatening presence of air bubbles, the numerous finishing stages …
It should be added a chapter to explain the name, unusual, one of his collections: shit. It’s a wish of successful used in many countries among actors in the theater. A limited edition jewel-watch (only eight pieces) and the new amazing jewelry by Suzanne Syz ♦
It’s time to Suzanne Syz. Or, rather, it’s time for the first watch-jewel by Swiss designer, one of the most imaginative independent creative and innovative in recent years. Her Maison based in Geneva, in fact, presented Ben, a mechanical watch (not quartz) in a limited edition of eight pieces with different materials and colors.

The cover is laser cut encrusted with diamonds and has a quote by Benjamin Franklin engraved inside the cover: “You may delay, but time will not.” For the timepiece enthusiasts, here are the characteristics of the Ben clock: has a diameter of 42 millimeters, 10 millimeters thick, is made of white agate, onyx black, with 478 diamonds (1,70 carats), and uses titanium, pink or white gold.

The edition is limited in eight different colors. But, of course, the main activity of Suzanne Syz are the jewels, which never disappoint the fans. As the ring called Power to the Flower, with a re-enactment of the sixties. It is made of titanium and gold, with a Colombian emerald five spinels, a diamond fancy yellow, three diamonds cut roses.
