Sicis Jewels, the Ravenna-based company specializing in micromosaic workmanship, arrives on the shores of the Bosphorus. It has opened a store in Istanbul, together with its historic partner Kent Yapi 1985, in the prestigious area of Nişantaşi. Istanbul, after Paris, is the second capital among those that welcome the collections of precious Sicis Jewels and Sicis O’Clock timepieces made in limited edition and according to the art of micro and nano-mosaic. Ravenna, on the other hand, is the home of mosaic, with its fantastic examples of Romanesque art. And just as Ravenna was the capital of the Western Roman Empire from the 5th to the 6th century, Istanbul was in turn the historic capital of the Eastern Roman Empire before the Ottoman conquest. With these historical references behind it, Sicis Jewels applies the art of mosaic to jewelry. Micro and nano-mosaic experts spin tiny rods of gold and Venetian enamel, obtained by fusing nine different mother colors, to create infinite combinations of colors and precise shades, and then set the nano-tiles by hand and with the naked eye. The address of Sicis Istanbul showroom is: Maçka Cad.No: 1 Nişantaşi/İstanbul, Ph. +9 0212 2402596 / +9 0212 2402564.
